Trading for Fuchs

I have an 83 cab that came with d90's installed by PO. I recently acquired the following pieces: never installed M&K 1in 1out muffler, euro premuffler (off 85 euro Carrera), and a set of euro H4's in VG condition off the same euro car as the premuffler.

I would really like a nice set of Fuchs, but my wife might shoot me or the car if I spend any more money on it soon. Trying to decide if:

1. I have the potential for a good trade here.
2. If I should even try to trade, or just suffer the look of the d90 wheels until my wife settles down a bit.
3. I should make a run for it! (Just kidding honey!)

I am sure there is plenty of advice, so let it flow...

D90s are the least desirable of the 911 wheels. When my brother bought cups for his 964, Wheel Enhancement wouldn't even take them for $0 credit....they just didn't want them around. I ended up selling them for him, but not after MUCH work. I think he took $300 for the set with usable tires.

There's a supposedly nice set of 16" Fuchs 7's and 9's taken from a 1980 SC on the San Diego PCA region's website. Advertised for $550 which sounds pretty reasonable to me. I assume these would fit an '83???? But I don't know for sure.

I have 2 sets of D90's off old cars I once owned. They are bolted together and they form the backbone of a work bench

They're not my wheels...I just saw them on the SD site and was *trying* to be helpful...

Back in summer of 2004, I inquired with a very well known Porsche wheel place on either getting new Design 90's or getting my current D-90's refinished for my concours 964.

New D90's were quoted to me at $2100 plus shipping (4 rims). A set of refinished rims were $1500. Otherwise, it was $175 per rim to have my own rims refinished.

Needless to say, I passed on that quote...
