Value of low mileage 1991 911 C2

Today I looked at a very clean 1992 C2 with 39,000 original miles. Guards red with black interior. New tires 2000 miles ago. 2nd owner. Car is completely original down to stereo and wheels. Car is very clean in and out and drives and sounds great. No evidence of accident damage or paintwork. Paint is shiny and unfaded.

Only cosmetic issues that I could see are a couple of very small nicks on front bumper and a 1/3" rust bubble at the base of the driver's side A pillar. Bubble extends under windshield weather stripping. Owner said the bubble was there when he bought the car two years but it has not grown since the car is garage kept and not driven in imclement weather. Anyway, I found it strange that the rust formed when it's apparent that the car was well cared for all its life.

I know this year 911 has a potential problem with oil leaking between the heads and cyclinders but this one appears to be dry. Is this something that would have reared it's head by now if it was going to be a problem? Floor under car is dry and clean. Only oil leak that I found is very slight seepage around the oil drain plug. not dripping. Distributor mod has not been done.

Owner is asking $25000, does that sound reasonable?

Thanks,
Jeff

I think it's high. Yes the mileage is relatively low but at $25K you are, IMHO, in 993 territory for a car with 60K miles or so if you just take your time and look....

That rust bubble probably won't be cheap to fix right either. They are common in that area and will only get worse over time. So if you really want the car have them knock off at least $1K for that....

Also, the distributor mod hasn't been done and you are not sure about the head fix...

Well I almost went down this road myself but my wrench convinced me to hold out for a 993. I did and found this one with 62K miles over two years ago. I got it for $25.5K
Yes it was a good deal but that was 2 years ago. If you look they are out there.
