84 911 Carrera Targa, 30k....read inside please....
Yep, another noob....Wondering if I did ok with this car. I bought a 84 911 Targa, 32k miles, true miles documented with records from FL DMV, GA DMV and carfax(yea I know the latter means nothing but......)
The story of this 911 is that someone owned it and passed away and the car sat for 6-7 years. The car runs great, stops great, paint is not faded but is going to need some serious detaling but I believe once I use 4-5 clay bars and a couple cases of beer, she'll shine again, rear seats are perfect along with rear package tray leather is good, door panels are not warped and leather is fine, ac even works. ![]() Now for the bad, the dash is wasted, pass seat is cracked and torn, missing mats/carpet....in other words...lots of interior work is needed. I paid $8000 for the car, what do you guys think? Last edited by trbomta1; 03-27-2008 at 06:38 PM.. |

I've been looking for that kind of a deal for over a year, why can't I find something like this???
Sounds like a great buy even if it needs some "unfound" problems repaired. Do a PM service on EVERYTHING. Post photos!

Just took a few quick pics of the 911. Gave her a quick wash and drive around the block...damn this car runs great! Yes, a PM of everything is in order for sure as looking at the oil tank tube hoses are REALLY dry and have cracks, the bottom hose is the worse..no more moving this car until I order some parts. Even the clock still works!

I have been looking and lurking around for over two years waiting until I found the right one.......my wife was ready to kill me on Thursday when I told her we were going to Georgia with the truck at 7:30 in the AM...We made it back to Central Florida around 2:30 in the AM on Friday!

A pretty good deal. By the time you replace all the cracked rubber, the seat, the dash and probably some suspension parts you will probably have another $3000 in it which gives you a nice Carrera for $11,000!

Looks like the interior is in pretty good shape too. Nice steal.

WOW, did not expect this kind of response. Here is what I'm getting at. I really wanted to get a really nice sunroof coupe, but this just fell into my lap. Maybe I will post it for trade as I wanted a 911 for a track/weekend car but this car has too many good things going for it to beat it up. Decisions........

If you really wanted a coupe for track use, I'd flip this thing in an instant for a huge profit and get exactly what you want. It's worth big dollars with those extremely low miles; even with it's current flaws.

I know it sounds really bad but I want it to go to someone whom is going to take care or it. I am not afraid to do the work it needs but I just cannot tear up a low-mileage 911.
Like I said when I saw the car for sale, I expected the worse over the phone and on a leap of faith jumped in the truck and in 8 hrs was there and was really surprised to see the condition. The wife and I pushed it on the trailer and drove home. Got home, put a new battery, changed the oil, turned it over by hand and added fuel and wella, she fired right up. Then when I drove it around the block and could not believe that everything worked...OMG. I had this look like a kid in a candy store. Heck, I have had 3 911's in the past and none of them the clock worked...LOL. I know I could make a killing on flea-bay but would much rather trade for a nice sunroof coupe and drive daily and track on weekends. We'll see what kind of offers I get or maybe I will sell it on e-bay, but with not much work this is going to make someone a nice weekend toy to cruise. |

Good for you to not want to tear up a low mileage 911. There are not too many left... Jay 90 964, 84 3.2 |
