Question 3.2 carrera cab vs coupe values

have been tracking actual selling prices of 84-89 values on ebay and elsewhere and it appears coupes and cabs sell for about the same, given they're in the same condition. traditionally, open cars (cabs, not targas) are almost always worth more $$$$. what can anyone offer in explaining why this doesn't seem to be true for this model? too new? not yet a classic? if there' something i'm missing, please clue me in. thanks in advance for your input.

wesellptc market is soft at the moment and shows as coups used to carry a prem over the cabs...too new? lol targas have always been the red headed step child to some and carry less of prem then the coup or cab, targas have more pieces to maintain

thanks for your comments, cal44 and fenderguy.....they're consistent with what i'm hearing offline, as well.....more attractive roofline, profile, etc.

Market right now for anything that is a high dollar toy fickle. I got out of a hobby that I have been doing since I was in 8th grade back in 1979- Boating. More specifically High performance boating. Last two boats where an off shore Go Fast and a pickle-fork with a blown 509 pushing 1050 hp. I got the bug in a bad time to sell a boat, but the right time for the car. It took me about month to sell my boat. Funny thing is the day I put it up for sale I found the car I wanted. It was a Widebody Cab. I wanted an open top. I have no plan for putting this thing on the track. I like the looks of the cab. I car I bought sold 4 time before it ended up mine.

Now I have my car I still watch the ads. Seems the prices are creeping back up and the price of fuel is creeping down. As for the cab Vs Coup. I 4think the two comments above hit the nail on the head
