First Red Flag
To me the first Red Flag would of been an early 911 with only 21k original miles for less then $20k ???

There is a 1973 911S with 18,000 miles in sand beige on the PCA.org website. It is in Texas.
F. Gorman is asking $79,000. |

@barndoor, the seller had no ducumentation to back up the miles, no ducumentation whatsoever on the car.
the front pan needed to be replaced and the car had no interior at all. So 21k for this car whas not a bargain but a maybe good deal. Car has been sold to someone else , am still trying to figure out to who. the whole vestigation is still on, will update once I know more. thanks, Sebastian |

Update:
it's been very quite from my side in this tread because I didn't want to give the guy that has defrauded me to much info. I hired a PI and to make a long story short I found him !! I have spend a long time on the internet and finally tracked him down. In the beginning I did email with him a couple times and he offered to pay me back but that was a empty promise as well. My PI got him on a NCIC database wich meant that when he was checked by the police that he would come up listed as a wanted man. In the mean time he moved to Holly Springs GA. a long time after that I got an email that he was arrested and set free on paying a bail on the folowing monday. Now I did have a long talk with the prosecutor and she feels like that he will probaly will plead not guilty and will go to court because I live in Europe he will likely have the idea that I will not fly in and attend court ( wich I will have to once this goes to trail ) and thus will not be prosecuted. I have given this a long thought also because it's not likely that I will get back one single penny because the man has a LONG history in crime theft fraud etc, he will not have any money. But I came to the conclusion that I will be going to the trail, yes that will cost me extra but I cannot live with myself if I don't , i simply wanne get this bastard behind bars. prosecutor says he will most likely get 3-5 years !! and I can live with that. maybe he want's to settle , I'll hear that in some weeks time. Hope I'll get this guy where he belongs.. keep you all posted.... Thanks, Sebastian |

bail him out, , give him the beating of his life, tatoo "child molester" on his forehead then send him back to jail.
you might be surprised what an "attitude adjustment" will do to a person........ |

Thanks all for your kind words ,much apperciated.
I know now that going to the states will maybe end up in a dissaster because his lawyer will probably try to postpone the trails several times so I'll end up having to stay for weeks wich I obviously cannot ,so I probably have to find a way to get this to work. thanks, |

Too bad that you have to go thru this and I've been hearing this lately from buyers overseas getting scammed. This doesn't look good for us here in the states.
A few years back, I found a classic BMW I found on Mobile.de, email the owner, called him, made an offer, wired him the money and even drove the car to the port to meet my shipping agent and got the car after 30 days. Everything was as described and said during long conversations with the previous owner. That said, if in case you find a car here in my area San Francisco bay area. Let me know and I would give you my assistance. Good luck. |

Pricks who cheat people out of good faith money deserve every crappy thing that happens to them. Folks like you (had a prick try to cheat me once too) have to see issues like this all the way through. If not, the cheats win.
I'd like to see a forum sticky and a war chest set up as dealing with this sort of stuff is expensive. Ultimately taking it all the way through court serves every honest person here well. |

UPDATE !!!
Hello all. I am back from my trial in York SC. To make a long story short the guy that defrauded me : Marion Branham got 10 years in jail !!! he was offered 5 years if he could pay me back all of my money within 24 hours but his wife didn't so he is doing 10 years now. I am happy, although 10 years is kind off much but at least he cannot defraud anyone else right now. thanks, Bas |

I hope this brought you satisfaction. Minus 10 years for being a bastard seems about right to me. Did you/will you recover any money?

you should be commended for your follow through. too many people let things slide instead of doing the right thing. job well done. Last edited by onlycafe; 06-16-2010 at 08:56 AM.. |

+1 on following through, you have done the whole community a service, I'm just sorry you couldn't get either the car or the cash back.

I would contact the wife after he gets locked up. She may be willing to give you some or all of the money (if she has it) but wouldn't say so in court so he'd be gone longer. She may have been happy to see him go away.
Good for you to follow through. One bad guy off the streets for a while. |

thanks guys for the kind words.
I must say that even though the whole trial has set me back another $2,5K but it was worth every dollar. I have seen more of your country then just NYC and have met some very nice people when I was there. but indeed no car and no money..... the sentence he got was 10 years and complete payment to me when he gets out but he'll be 70 when he get out so that will probably never happen. ![]() |
