Who or what is going to Hershey this year?
Yup I'm heading to hopefully buy a couple of things and I have a feeling people will be bring a few toys to unload. Who else is going and what are you bringing to sell?

my problem w/ selling tends to be the follow up buying.

Mac,
Well that is the fun part. I sold about $250.00 in used parts on the forum and just placed two orders with Pelican for $1,200. So the way I figured it I lost $900.00, I can't wait for the stuff to arrive! |

Never been but I heard it's quite the event. 10 hr trek for me though and not sure it would be worth it.
I do need a couple of those hard to find bits for my early tool kit, (2 red handle screwdrivers) and some other minor parts. Do you think they will have any of these? |

Is it worth traveling to this? How does it compare to the LA Lit/Toy show and following swap meet? I'm on the West Coast, but could probably find an excuse to be in PA later this month if the show is big enough and there might be cars for sale there (still looking for the perfect car).

They say it is the biggest. I have gone the last couple years but have yet to see Jerry Seinfeld. PCA promotes the fact that he went one year.

I'll be going as well, as I have for the past 25 yrs? Jeezz.
And yes, it is the biggest all Porsche swap in the country. Weather can be a mixed back of tricks but regardless, you can usually find what you need and it's always fun to meet some of the Pelicans you've talked with on the board. Oh, and the lot is packed with Porsches of all kinds. 2 specific lots: Porsche only parking w/car show, and Porsche "For sale" lot.. swap meet is in-between the two! Yeah, Jerry was there a couple years back.. he probably doesn't come now because he's got all the parts he needed and his restorations are done!

Bringing some early parts and later cars parts as well, and 68 911T ( project) to unload. See ya there.

Swap meet is Saturday only. I need to be in LA for dinner Friday night so I may have to take a red-eye flight and drive up in the am. Is Philadelphia the closest major airport?

I`ll be going.
I try to make it every year. Maybe missed it twice in 20 years, and to Joe from London it`s definitely worth the drive. If the weather is good the Porsche car turn out is amazing. Howerever if the weather sucks the price on parts drops for us shoppers. I hope for nice weather. I always seem to brig back a trunk full to keep me busy for a few months. Hope we see lots of Porsche people there.

I'm hoping to make the drive from Cleveland in my 87 Targa but if the weather continues to be bad (it is SNOWING right now!!!) I'll need the weekend to get may sailboat ready for a May 2nd launch.

Most of the Pcar swap meets here in Northern California have really dwindled down to nothing over the years. What is left at these events is a random batch of over priced ods and ends. Is this Hershey event growing or shrinking? Are parts still swap meet type prices or has it also turned more into just a social event for old timers with a couple vendors showing off parts they will never sell at posted prices?....missing the good old days here in Cali?

I just made reservations in Harrisburg. I'm dragging the wife and kids up from NC. Is there usually a good turn out of cars for sale?

However, it has started to dwindle a bit, as it's not as many vendors/ as much activity as there was in past years.. but its still the largest all Porsche Swap in the country and that tends to help with the draw. So it's still a good time!! ![]()

I've bought a ticket and will be flying in to Harrisburg Saturday morning. Anyone know how far the swap meet venue is from the airport? I can rent a car or take a cab if it's not too far. Any suggestions on where to stay Saturday night, or if there are any Porsche-related gatherings in the evening? Thanks
