in the dark re: 75 911S
Having dinner tonight with some p-car friends and John pulls out a hardcopy and says "Hey, Phil, you should look into this car."
One-owner car, always garaged, never damaged, all matching numbers, repainted once to match original metallic green (have no idea when, but my friend John says the car really looks spectacular), 2.7L, 72k miles. IIRC, the late owner was a long-time PCA member and *loved* his car. Oh, BTW, full maintenance history. Since i have spending most of my time scouring the planet for a straight 964 C2 Coupe (to replace my former 88 coupe), I have no frikkin' idea about fair prices for a '75 911S. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? TIA for your help. Phil |

well Phil
what i can say is that these cars are both loved and hated. if it is a really nice original with motor up dates done then it would be worth the same as a decent SC. what i have found with these cars in the past is that not all updates get done. for example lots have had chain tenioners and not head studs and vise versa. if he is a pca member and knows these cars he will probably price car accordingly. i would think you are going to be between 8 and 12k. i have seen really nice ones sell for more but most are priced in the above price range and you just have to dig threw all the ones and find a diamond in the rough. you should drive the car first if you have never driven a mid year car they are not power houses and will not impress you with there power. it is very primitive compared to your C2 your wanting. but these cars are some of my favorites as you can own more than one because there a bargain for a Porsche most of the time. good luck in your car venture and hope you find what your looking for this car maybe a good hold over to get you where you want to be. or maybe you will just keep it and buy another? cheers ed
