Could someone please the 965 market?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I have been following the 930, 965 and 964 markets for awhile now and I am a bit perplexed. Now, let me start off by saying I am not trying to insult or slight the 965's. They are beautiful cars just like all Porsche 911's. What is confusing to me is the asking price for the 965's seems very high to me. I say this because the 964's are going for as low as mid-teens right now where the 965's are mid-forties.

How many 964 turbos are there in comparison to 964s? Porsche 964 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia What about the mileage and condition of both cars? A mid-forties 964 turbo would be a low mileage example. Higher mileage ones are in the low to mid thirties. Some even dip into the high twenties.

Doesn't help that 965's started out some $20-30K more than a 964 to begin with. Plus there relatively few 965s built over the years. It would seem to me that the mid-teens 964s aren't exactly low mileage, well maintained examples. $30-40K range seems fair in the current market.

Unique era of Porsche. At a time of 959 motorsport technologies. Here is one that should boggle your mind.
The reserve is around 70K

I had a 91 C2T. If i remember right there were 1200 91-92 C2T built. The original price tag on mine in 91 was close to $100k. They were very unique cars. Very little of the 964 parts are interchangeable with the 964 Turbo. Bottom line is the 964 Turbo was a very low production car with a lot of specialized parts.

low production number dictate pricing......just a comparison, look at BMW e30 M3's, they are selling more than BMW e36 M3's, i some case more than a stock BWM e46 M3's out there

It's possible to find them in mid 20s, but there are rare. There was a black one, about 120k miles, advertised on this board about a year ago for 25k. I picked mine up in Canada for the equivalent of U$25k. Good driver, 80k miles, had a small brake problem . Fixed it myself in one afternoon and it's been good ever since. Love the car, but it's painfully stock and feels slower then my modified WRX. So slippery slope, here I come. I am collecting parts and ideas for my 3.6 EFI hp build with the help of this very board.
