What's this S worth, restored?

Trying to decide if I put this away for later and restore to 100% factory original (expensive and a long period of time invested), fix it back up as a mildly (to period correct details and won't take as long time wise or cost near as much since I have the parts) modified street/track car like it was, or just let it go as is for the next owner to decide ( I am currently trying to get two '69S cars and my 914/6 done; no time and not enough $$$).

Details: CA delivery 1970 911S w/ sunroof in original light yellow color that was modified and used as a autocross car w/ race seats, shoulder harnesses, roll bar, rolled rear wheel opening lips and wheels w/ spacers, different sway bars, ect. The under chassis is super solid w/ no rot in the front pan, battery boxes, floors, or rockers. One poorly executed repaint (not in the trunks or jambs) in original color to cover up the prior custom striping and lettering. There are areas all over the car where the paint is cracking and surface rust can be seen due to the poor pre-paint prep work. It looks worse than what it really is. I've taken all the lights and signals out and there is no rust behind them. Matching motor and transmission, but the motor was built to 2.7RS specs and threw a rod resulting in a nice sized hole being ripped into the case. It's been patched, but looks ugly as is. I have another real '70S MFI motor that's built to 2.5L that I would like to install and keep the original case off to the side as a keep sake. Is this smart? Strange wheels on the car now need super long wheel studs (I have a set of five matched deep 6's).

What's the value range for this car: A.) As it sits B.) Brought back to life leaving the period mods C.) Restored to factory original, super excellent, driver condition?

Check out the Tangerine '70S here

here's the best example I know.

It's been listed here for a year though with no movement on price, which tells you something.

John,

I would restore to a stock S vs. track car. It would be worth close to $40,000 + w/ correct motor.

See you @ Hershey!

Luke

Hey Luke. I listed the car on Ebay last night w/ a Buy It Now or best offer of $35,850.00, just to test the waters on option "A". The car sold in less than 6 hours at the BIN figure to a guy in Germany. We'll see if he comes thru w/ the $$$ next week. It was the same buyer that picked up Jojogto's '68S on Ebay last month, and that transaction looks to have gone smoothly.

LOVE that orange S. It's only 6 digits off in serial number sequence from my yellow one, but the engine is 60 serial numbers different. Some thing's not right IMO? Is it the original motor in the orange car?
