Price check on 911, '88 white coupe

Whats a fair number?

Its in good shape, no stories, unmodified, around 100,000 miles, few drips of oil here and there. White with black interior.

Just wondering what a fair number is to start from. My hunch is even if its in great shape, its a $19-20k car at best. What do you guys think?

How quickly do you want to sell? If you're not in a rush, I would say $20k would be a good place to start and if you can wait, might get a buyer. Make sure to fix all the "little" things that might be broken/worn. The less items you have to "explain" the easier it will be to sell.

Good luck

ah...missed that. I would say you're guess is pretty close. Take a look at some prior sales to get a gauge of what they are selling for and make a reasonable offer.

Look around there are a fair number of 87-89 coupes out there with that sort of mies in average shape for less money.

100k and no engine work? I would say $17k, tops. And that is if the G50 checks out perfect. As memory serves me, there is something about the pinion gear that gets real noisy and is a serious/expensive PITA to fix. And you better identify where the leaks are coming from. May be just valve covers but could be much more expensive.

Another way to look at it is pay $15k, and do a top-end. Now you are into it for $20, have a car that will go another 100k mikes, no leaks, and probably close to market value.
