Trying to find value...for insurance mainly, or sale...maybe. Has issues, few records, value is in it's completeness...33k, original 15 '' wheels...it has the micro phone too. Currently has 16'' wheels with new tires... Will need paint...your thoughts? Black, camel interior in great condition...will up load photo in a day or 2

Brand new issue of Excellence does a story on the Turbo Carreras along with some current/recent ads and valuation guesstimates. While many members here say Excellence overvalues the cars, if it's for insurance and something were ever to happen to the car the reality is that whatever high value they place on the car is less than it would cost to properly fix the car. If one is trying to be sure not to have their collectible car totalled in the event of a fender bender, the highest value you can get the insurance company to accept as stated value is the one you want on the record, right?

I try to keep my eye on these cars, you don't really see all that many trading hands , but just for a point of reference for you, I have seen two honest to goodness project cars go on ebay in the low teens. The one brought something like 12.5k and needed paint interior, and motor work, motor was out and dissassembled. The other one was similar in condition, not running, and needed full resto, and brought just under 11.
I was really surprises when I insured mine. I can't remember the exact #, but my collectors ins co put it at over 30k.
Don't forget to throw up some pics , I would love to see them.
