Car value input please!

Question for the group is I have an option to buy an 84' 930 that has some issues:

Theft recovery in the past
Original engine was not recovered and 3.2 Carrera was put in.
Cant tell for sure but I think a metal slope nose conversion was done after recovery.

Pros:
It is in good shape overall and it is a real 930 in steel.
Sport seats
Turbo twists

What are the thoughts on the value range for this? My thoughts are to drop in a 930 engine and fix it up.

Tough call w/o more information and pics. Since it doesn't have a turbo engine, I wouldn't pay anymore than a standard 3.2 Carrera, maybe less depending on the body wrok.

'84 930 is a Euro car.. ROW. Nowadays its less a concern, but *could* perhaps cause registration problems without appropriate DOT/EPA paperwork. Most cases, if its already been registered it won't be an issue, but thought it should be mentioned.

In the US, Porsche did offer the Turbo Look 911, beginning in 1984.. a 3.2 motor stuffed in place of the turbo'd motor. Full turbo body work, suspension and brakes. In essence, you have a "turbo look" knockoff Not necessarily a bad car to start off with.

You could source a turbo if thats your thing.. or a 993 3.6 (with nearly 300hp, its close to the old stock 3.3L turbo anyway)

Do a thorough search for rust and collision repair issues.
