965 wheels...common?
  It would seem that 965 turbo wheels should be fairly rare, but I see a lot of 'cup1' wheels for sale. Realistically what is a set worth? these are 17x7&9, ET55, made in 1991. And yes for grins I had them polished, but now have a different set of wheels on my car. and found some Fuchs caps, too.thanks in advance for everyone's help! |

Cup 1 wheels were optional on regular 964s and 968s and standard on the 928GTS so, they weren't limited to only 911 turbos. If they were forged Magnesium instead of aluminum, then they would be rare. They also can be work on "late" 944s and Boxsters and 993.
Lots of Cup 1s seem to go for $500-800 depending on condition.

good info, thanks.
The wheels show a formulation of AlSi7Mg0.4wa. So there's some magnesium in the alloy, but is there enough? I'm guessing no...
