Early 911 barn find questions

Good Afternoon, everybody. New to the forum (today).
A friend just inherited a family car... (cousin in Oregon) and since he is a "Corvette" guy, he called me. I'm not 911 friendly, so I thought I'd go to you guys to see if we can find out what this car is. It's complete and drivable, was trailered from Oregon to So. Cal yesterday. I have not seen the car yet, so no images (yet). What I know.
European delivered car, euro lenses and Kilo speedo, paperwork has the dealer and original owner. Stuttgart. He is now the 4th owner. Car has been garaged and covered since the 70's.
VIN 305640S
Engine 960250 901-02 5772
Paint code 57.50121 (?) Car is light blue, paint original under both lids... emeron respray in '70's.
Might be an "S", as on the VIN... but have been told that is a build location code. (?)
Car has a sunroof, gas heater, and rear window wiper. All I know now, but anxious to see just what he has. All early 911s are special, he's excited, as am I.
Any help appreciated.

Looks like a VIN from a 1966 "S"...

According to elferhelfer.de this is a 911S coupe from 1967. The engine type 901/02 is correct for this car. The engine nr. is in the correct range too. The color code is for pastel blau so that confirms your finding the original paint under the lids. If you order the COA from Porsche you can find out for certain if the vin and engine numbers match.

This is a rare car and your friend has every reason to be excited. I would be.

The technical forum gets a lot more traffic and has lots of members much more knowledgable than I am to answer your questions.

You can also check in at the early911sregistry.org another wealth of knowledge there specifically for the early cars
