Man, I love widebodies.....

Ok, I will take a shot.

In present condition this is at best a $25,000 to $30,000 car.

Here is my logic.....

There is currently a similiar backdated car sitting on EBay with almost a $70,000 asking.

Porsche : 911 Porsche : 911 | eBay

It is not selling and I think that might be a stretch for the seller. It is a very solid car no rust issues and very well built but Hotrods are a fickle sell. The car really needs to speak to the buyer.

To achieve top dollar your car needs quite a few issues sorted.

Here would be what I would do if I bought it.....

Rust; the pan looked like it needed replacement. This would create the question what is hidden. Based upon my experience after restoring two pre73s there is more there than meets the eye. This is a $25,000 to $30,000 (w/ paint) question to me. The body also needs to be sorted to solidify its identity. Being a 70 I would go for an ST but RSR is just as appropriate.

Wheels; $8000. for a set of weidman 11 &15s built up fuchs w/ tires

Interior: $10,000 A to Z conversion to ST or RSR style

Miscellaneous: $10,000 (brightwork, mechanical refreshing etc...)

$58,000 + $30,000= $88,000

Of course this would all change based upon PPI of the 3.6L which I am assuming to be a strong running motor. If the motor is shot deduct $15,000 from my estimate.

thanks for the input...those numbers are huge...at $10k for an interior are you putting in real ST seats ? I know for sure there are many ways to cut that up and still end up with a very nice and light weight interior.

a little bit more about the car, its an all steel body with oem steel fenders and custom fabricated steel bumpers, rear flairs look factory but we all know they are not but so well done a good body detective would agree.
indeed the front pan is in need but the rest of the floors, rockers, torsion areas are very solid.
the leather seats are rebuilt and recovered as new. decent interior with power windows and mirrors ( yeah, not a supreme option for a light weight but that was not the original intention)

it has had a few different engines including a 3.4 turbo at one time I am told.
the current engine a 92 with 45k miles at removal has excellent leakdown numbers however I havent been able to keep it running due to what I now believe is a bad brain.
the rebuilt 915 LSD has not run since installed
has 89 930 suspension, rack and pinion, alum cross members and trailing arms, all turbo
69-71 front oil cooler.
many of the best parts makes this a good starting point.
still difficult to find a price point I agree.

My interior has authentic seats..... $10,000 is a conservative estimate....

Car sounds like it has very good bones w/ most of the heavy lifting completed. Your description verifies the $25k to $30k range as is; with sorting it could easily be worth a bit of more. Candidly speaking, I have seen some amazing hotrods sell for $.50 against $1.00 build cost. It is a very fickle market.........
