You said yourself that he was asking crazy money. I don't think it's crazy, just a bit high for me if everything is as presented and for the reasons I mentioned previously.
The other thing I meant to mention was the model year for this car. It isn't the first or last of the SC's model years. To me, those are the most desirable years simply because they are the first and last years. To you it may not matter. But again, if resale down the road is important, a first or last year of most collectible cars is preferable.
For a really nice car you will pay in the $20's unless you get really lucky. The price will be higher through a retail outlet. Have you checked Sloan's prices? A car in the teens will have some needs. The question is how much those needs will cost to correct and will it be worth it in the end?
