I ended up passing on it and any car for the time being. Everyone seems to think you can get a nice SC in the mid teens and i'm just not seeing that as I scour the various for sale outlets everyday.

Me thinks this one is not the one for you. If it was, you'd know it. I'm not sure how long you've been looking, but when you find the right one, you'll be racing to write the check. After the PPI, of course.

You said yourself that he was asking crazy money. I don't think it's crazy, just a bit high for me if everything is as presented and for the reasons I mentioned previously.

The other thing I meant to mention was the model year for this car. It isn't the first or last of the SC's model years. To me, those are the most desirable years simply because they are the first and last years. To you it may not matter. But again, if resale down the road is important, a first or last year of most collectible cars is preferable.

For a really nice car you will pay in the $20's unless you get really lucky. The price will be higher through a retail outlet. Have you checked Sloan's prices? A car in the teens will have some needs. The question is how much those needs will cost to correct and will it be worth it in the end?

Don't get discouraged. Remember, the hunt is half the fun! Enjoy it
