Tell me I am wrong

I see SC 911's for sale.......with tails and the seller claims car is original.

When did Porsche sell SC's with tails? Please educate me.

You could always order a dealer installed tail (or, ordered from the factory). Not as common on SCs but more so on the Carreras.

There was a tail that the factory would supply to the SCs (even an all rubber one but those are pretty rare) and the Carreras and also a Turbo style tail. They look a little different. If the car has a Turbo tail then it is not a factory.

Also, later cars had an option sticker inside the front hood starting, I think, in the early 80s. The option code for the tail should appear on the sticker if it came that way from Germany.

Tea-tray (aka "turbo") tail is actually period correct for 81-83 according to this thread:
