Late '65 built 911
Value check on late '65 built 911 with Sunroof option. Light ivory color.
Factory replacement engine blank case. No Solexes. A few missing pieces and some rust. Needs total resto. Values on these have spiked lately. Thanks for all opinions. Frank |

The first thing you need to do is avoid falling into the trap of calling your car anything but a 1966 911. Late '65 build is a 1966. I've seen too many owners with '65 build dates try to convince themselves that their cars are worth more than other '66 MY cars, but in the end they are not.
That said, SWB cars are certainly rising in value last year and this, so you should do well. Cars without sunroof are a little more desireable than sunroof models (opposes logic, I know, but true). I'd be happy to look at any photos you have to give you a better idea of what it may be worth, at least in my opinion. -- Matt

The price on these can swing by 3X depending on how near original the car is. A starting point is $60K. As you may know, a car matching the description of yours (sans sunroof) auctioned last Summer for $106K. Many of us think that was a fluke.
In your case, the deduction for the factory replacement case is significant. And if that replacement case is magnesium, it's a much bigger value hit.

Replacement case is correct 65-68. Will need solexes though. Car is a bit rusty. Curious what value would be if correctly restored.
Thanks |

It's going to be a WAG. Pictures are essential.
One man's "a bit rusty" is another man's OMG. |
