Bruce Anderson has passed on
Thought the marketplace was the right place for a thread in honour of Bruce. He has been sick for a long time but was a fighter all the way to the end.
While many of us have frequently disagreed with his values there is no denying the information he brought to us all. And his 911 Performance Handbook is an air cooled must own. I was lucky enough to have him feature and focus on my product in the final edition he did of the book. RIP Bruce. |

Bruce, your air cooled wisdom will be greatly missed.
The 911 Performance Handbook was one of three books I read front to back and back to front to help me better understand my latest Porsche purchase.

In 1997, I sent Bruce a letter with some questions dealing with a 993's suspension. He graciously responded in writing, providing detailed and informative answers for all of my questions. When I met him at the Porsche Double Fifty at Watkins Glen International in 1998, he took the time to answer more questions that I had manufactured and delivered his insights with ease, clarity, and comprehensiveness.
Panorama, the Porsche Club of America's monthly publication, has lost its Senior Technical Editor, and the Porsche community has lost one of its most highly regarded experts. |

He was released several times only to end up back in the ICU a few days or a week later. He was a fighter all the way to the end. Stephanie kept a number of us updated via Facebook and spoke frequently about the sparkle of life in his eyes and that she knew he was feeling better because he would demand sushi over hospital food. It was hard to watch but I feel blessed to have been let in to so intimately be party to such a wonderful man's final days. He truly was an icon and my opening post downplays the huge impact he had on me and so many other lovers of the marque. |

Bruce
Wow ....am I glad I tuned in today. While not good news, I would not have wanted to be in the dark. I met Bruce a kajillion years ago when I lived in the Bay Area. Despite his popularity you never had the feeling you were bothering him....He ALWAYS had time and seldom if ever brushed you off as many gurus tend to do. Bruce was a 914-6 guy and eventually connected me with brother Clark who also was.....He worked magic on mine.
The Porsche community has lost a treasure chest of information and personality. My condolences to the family. RIP Bruce ! TOT
