2.2E with MFI - what is it worth?

I have a 1970 2.2E MFI, 10K miles on complete rebuild done 20 years ago (some receipts are available), in my 914-6 and plan to go to 3.0 or 3.2. with carbs. Question is what is a 1970 2.2E with MFI worth, the engine is still in my car and can be tested. And what is a good place to sell the engine?? Here, 911S registry??
Thanks for any input.

Definitely post on EarlyS as well. It's possible someone has the chassis that goes with the engine, and they try to keep track of that. Can't help on price but it looks like you are already getting some love!

Sorry for not responding earlier, just came back from Santa Rosa where I picked up a BMW R100 GS PD and drove her back via 101, great drive! Thanks for the PMs, I will respond in the next days but since I don't have an idea of how much the engine is worth I have to do some further investigation.

There's a lot of overlap between Pelican and Early S. If you look on the General Info forum on Early S, you'll find a thread called "lost and found." There, you should post your engine number, and every once in a while (but more frequent than a lottery jackpot) you'll find the person with the matching chassis.

I estimate engine value at $4.5K, + or - depending on how it runs and specs out.
