It comes with the flanges and has 108mm 930/late 3.2 Carrera flanges? The flanges alone are worth $400-500 a pair. Gearbox is another $800-1000. Offer it up as a $1200 package and it won't last long.

Thanks for the reply, very useful.
The original flanges are gone.
It comes with the flanges that take 4 bolts and 2 pins.

Original SC flanges would be 100mm fine spline.
Sounds like you are saying it has course spline flanges which means an early differential has been installed. An early differential has a different ring gear offset and if it wasn't shimmed properly will be a useless piece of junk. Or it could be a 7:31 ring and pinion. Also could mean an aftermarket performance differential in it.

Pull the sure cover and report back, preferably with pictures. Can't value it otherwise unless you want to sell it as a $400 grab bag gearbox.

Im real sure its got the stock diff in there. I remember I did a lot of research at the time to find the flange that fits that tranny with the 72 CV joints but its been a while. Coarse vs fine was an issue, may be I got the flanges from a sporto tranny but I dont remember, I can do the research again but I'm not home. I think these flange might be rare.

The course spline differential was discontinued before the 911sc was released. Either it is not an SC gearbox or the diff is not original to the gearbox.

Type number and serial number off the bottom rib? Though from your picture it appears aluminum which makes it SC or later.

OK so I went back through what I did and confirm it is Aluminium case SC transmission with standard SC differential. Fine spline differential as a SC should have. When I put it in the 1972 body, I kept the 4 bolt CV joint so I needed flanges that are 4 bolts with fine spline. I used a pair of flanges from the 1972 925 sportomatic tranny I had at the time, these are fine spline with early 4 bolts CV joints. The flange part numbers are 925.332.209.04 . These are probably rare and useful to 914/6 or different combination of LSD fine spline into early body.

Your turn: how much is it worth?

That thing got to go. May be I should list the tranny and the flanges separately on ebay, what do you think?

If you are ready to sell it put it in the classifieds. This is where we talk about what something is worth and don't actually buy and sell. There is another subforum for actually selling stuff.

I've bought 2 known working 915s for around $1200. an unknown condition one I would say is worth core value $500-700. w/o flanges it would be on the lower end. the flanges alone may be rare but may take long time to find someone who needs them. leave at least one flange bolt in at all times or it can cause a headache when diff gears go out of alignment, which means removing diff (fun).
