I wouldn't doubt it! Part of me is saying, "Sell the 930 and take the money and run." The other parts is telling me to keep it.

Tt surgeon 03-19-2014 07:22 AM

I'm sure it has.....

Bet on it, unless something has changed in the last few days, it's headed to Florida.

galileo 03-19-2014 04:10 PM

Marshall goldman now owns that car.

Tt surgeon 03-19-2014 04:27 PM

I guess he didn't really want a red Slantnose.

Spoil(buyer of many Slantnose) is a reseller of these cars, so no real surprised that he sold it.

galileo 03-19-2014 05:54 PM

Spoil is a dealer/flipper.

voitureltd 03-20-2014 06:31 AM

So even at that price a Mega dealer felt it was a good deal. Well maybe if the market stalls Marshall Goldman will get a low miler to keep.

Really nice clean well taken care of example. Only thing missing is sport seats and hope it has limited slip to get top price ? ( closed early ) for those miles and color combo. Bolt on's included,so probably over $100K when all is said and done if going back to 1989 speck was the goal of the buyer.

Small wonder as Hagerty is way higher on 89 coupes:). The convertibles and targas were less in demand when new. 1989 930, the "last" of the breed. Really nice to drive and were developed into a great road machine.

I've said it here before, and I'll say it again. 80k is the "buy it now" price for my '79 Minerva Blue 930. I'll even wash it and vacuum the interior before delivery to the buyer :p

da ja vu. OK Sold, I'll take it. I have someone from the DC area that is looking for a metallic blue. Is interested in my 79 30T so after this weekend message, I told him you might think of letting yours go, although i would seriously rethink it ( duh!) unless much more is offered, as he most likely will. You can always say NO.

Ha Ha, blast from the past. Tony...called you back today, left a message.

As you are aware, that "buy it now" price was well before the current market conditions came about. I'd be looking for a good deal more today to pry the car from my hands. I have over 80k into the car as it currently sits. I never really thought I could recoup my investment (because common wisdom is that you never will), hence my proclamation back then that 80K was the minimum. Fast forward to the now...remember that green '78 that sold for over 60k on ebay recently. That car needed everything. Made me realize if that car can fetch 60k with probably at least 40k of immediate needs, my car should be considerably more valuable.

I certainly like the idea that my car has a market value at least equal to what I have into it, but an offer to buy at that level would be easy to refuse at this point.

Are these top gear cars selling at these prices or are they trying to create talk?

Here seem to be some nice examples for sale for less than others are claiming to get. Although low mileage the one is far from stock.

1979 Porsche 911 Turbo Solon, Ohio | R&H|MotorCarGroup.com

1985 Porsche 911 Turbo Look Solon, Ohio | R&H|MotorCarGroup.com

The 1989 930 most likely sold at or near that price. As for those cars you posted,

-1979 930 is modded heavily incorrect brakes just everything on that car is aftermarket. Not going to bring much attention from collectors ect.

-1985 car is not a 930 just a wide body 911
