"want to sell?" notes on the windshield

Owned the car a week, parked on the street 3 days and already got an offer. Don't know if that's a reflection of San Francisco, the lack of project-worthy 911s out there or random chance but something tells me this won't be the last.

Feel free to post yours up. And David, if you're on Pelican, sorry not for sale having too much fun.

I get them frequently. At my old house this one would stop by and knock on my door about once every six months. You'll get used to it.

"If the price is right, anything is for sale. How badly do you want this car, in dollars?"

This is my reply to folks who ask if I want to sell. I figure, if someone really wants *this* car, they'll pay for it. I like this car, and want to keep it. However, if someone is going to part with, say, nice 930 money to have my car, well, I'd love to have a nice 930. :)

I always have been.

The difference is that I am an *honest* one.

Ouch ;)

I've never been asked if I want to sell but I have been asked "how much do you think it's worth?" from strangers in parking lots in a probing sense hoping I'm oblivious to the current market for these cars.

Scam Alert!!!

I'm sure there are valid inquiries about value etc... But I had this same "block" style handwriting
note put on my 4runner. I think it's a similar scam as the group dropped off in a "nice" neighborhood saying they're flying to Africa to play a soccer match for the homeless.
I called the guy because it pissed me off that he actually touched my car in my driveway.

Scam Scam Scam.

*Ouch* is right. I feel so wronged, so very diminished by your comments. It's like I've lost my only friend. :D

I do this all the time to cars that look neglected/unloved. Once you fix it up the notes should stop but the admiring glares/conversations will start.

Jrboulder 11-06-2013 12:14 PM

I've had a few people knock on my door asking about purchasing my car. I get 4 or 5 PMs a month also asking if my cars is for sale. Still, no notes.

manbridge 74 11-06-2013 04:21 PM

My car is white so I get none of this.....

Rich Gas 11-06-2013 04:28 PM

Read some of your posts...you didn't deserve that. Wish my car was white.

manbridge 74 11-06-2013 05:49 PM

Rich Gas 11-06-2013 06:28 PM

Said it sounded slightly racist...joking around.
Not prejudice...I hate everyone.
