"Updated" 1966 912

How much do you guys think this "updated" 1966 912 is worth in its current condition?

It runs and the engine has been replaced with a flat 6 from a 911T. My goal would be to return it back to its original condition as much as possible. I own a 1989 930 and am not too familiar with these older cars. Does the interior also appears to have been significantly altered?

Poor little molested 912. Going to take $10K at least to take that car back. Might be worth it in the long run but it would most surely be a labor of love today.

some how the whole idea of removing a real flat 6
and making the car slower with a push rod 4
then
gutting the handling by removing the wider tyres and flares
so not only is the car slower it corners worse too
you would remove a later incorrect brake up grade too??????????????

just seems to go against what a porsche is supposed to be
just to recreate a common 912 that is not in short supply anyway

and yes the int is too up graded from the plain simple 66 912 look
no C/F in 66 to start with

At least it's still a long hood..
I have never seen that done before: adapting an impact bumper while retaining the long hood.

My original post wasn't clear, but I would mostly focus on bringing it back to original appearance. I probably wouldn't touch the mechanic, assuming it's in good condition.

In any case, your post isn't of much help with regards to my initial question... I don't really care if it makes sense to you or not. 912 (or long hoods in general) might be plentiful where you are, but not around here.

It looks like a woman who has had too many lip injections and eye tucks.

I'd like to see how they did those fenders. It's so curvy I am assuming fiberglass. You could save some money if you bought fiberglass replacements. Check out GT Racing's 911r section for some ideas. Would look right and be lightweight.

Most likely fiberglass/bondo. I'm in touch with the seller. I'll know more in the coming days...

Sell it as it is and find one that hasn't had all the work done if your goal is to bring it back to original. Even with today's market, the car has had pretty much everything altered. Better to sell now and find one that hasn't been.

That is one of the more bizarre conversions I've seen.

Good luck. There is a guy on here selling the pieces that can "fix" it -- but they are justifiably expensive. There is karma in saving this poor car from the shameful existence it must endure looking like this….

Seeing these parts for sell is what actually got me considering buying the car... I still need to see how bad the car actually is. Will keep you posted!

Car has been for sale for a while, definitely wouldn't pay the 12+K the owner is asking.
I guess if you went to buy all the pieces to put this together it would be close.
T motor, tranny, wheels, webbers, I'd say POR1968 is in the ballpark.
Being from the great white north rust is always the issue.
The ad looks like it has been taken down......did you buy it?
Post some additional pictures if you did, good luck.

No, didn't buy it. Waiting for a follow up from the seller...
