The Kardex is your friend. Go to early S and find out about accessing the factory info. Also I might be wrong but I think 2626 is Conda green. Ferry liked a green car, again check early S for info there is a thread.
Yes its rusty near the A pillar so learn to weld or work a lot, but maybe you just get to Driver level and just enjoy the snot out of it. The motor needs work, its not all there. I know what I'd do but what ever path you choose BoL. Someoen wants this car

Consider that some guy here was selling the fenders, hood, bumpers, and trim bits necessary for a backdate -- and was asking $7k+ for just those parts. Weber carbs, engine and transmission core. I think $9k is a pipe dream…or a steal. I don't have a good sense of what they are selling for, but I would assume north of $20k.

That was true a couple years ago but not anymore. That car is worth $15-20k as it sits and worth putting $50-60k of restoration into it.

I was at CPR About Us - Welcome To CPR Classic - CPR Classic over the week end for the open house/lit show and the guy there said that in today's market a long hood T restored is 135-145K, so a rough estimate figuring 100K for restoration 35-45K for a buildable T long hood.

My '67 912 was originally polo red. It is currently Ossi blue, by my best guess. The paint is good, so I am restoring/playing with the interior on my own. Some day I will strip it to metal and pay someone to do it right. Depending on what you want out of this car, you might be able to put off certain things for some time.
The car has some rust. But if its not structural and the thing isn't going to bend in half you can wait a long time before you chase the rust worm and go to metal and repair all that isn't right. |

Here is some inspiration for you:
![]() When you get around to doing the rust repair you can take it back to the original color.

Porsche 'Family' Cars . . .
If there is any chance of it being a Porsche family car you should check it out. There is a recent thread on a chaps car thats in SA. Turns out his car was a 'Special' car which was sent to the testing dept. This seems to mean it could have been a car someone from the family drove. Like I said earlier if you look at the early S thread, Green is a Porsche family preferred color, especially Ferry.

I did go to early S registry.com and read a thread about the Porsche family cars...they certainly did like green.... This car was supposedly owned by a Porsche sister which I am assuming was Louis Piech....I have searched but have not found this car associated with her....it was delivered to the dealership in Cologne.... If anyone has any suggestions let me know..... Thanks to everyone..... |

Check this guy out. Beautiful car and he is like a Bloodhound Ten Fifty-nine But if it turns out to be a car that through documentation proves it once belonged to Jo Siffert ... Ding ding ding winner

If I was in the right life position (with an extra garage, lift, and workshop) I would love a car like this. Lots of work, but primarily stuff an amateur can manage. Set a budget, make a plan, and take a year of weekend work to get it "done." Not every build has to be a $60k concours restoration.
