If I was in the right life position (with an extra garage, lift, and workshop) I would love a car like this. Lots of work, but primarily stuff an amateur can manage. Set a budget, make a plan, and take a year of weekend work to get it "done."

Not every build has to be a $60k concours restoration.
Right on most counts. $15K runners are a pipe dream today. This car is closer to $20K as it sits. The majority of both purchases and sales of cars like this take place quietly. It's rare to see cars like this published with owner contact info or on eBay.

And yes, a serviceable restoration is manageable on an amateur basis. I do it all the time. I am not a professional. I play with cars after work and on weekends. My day job is as a publisher.

Any guy who has a garage with 3 x long hoods has to at least qualify as a semi-pro!

;-)

I have 3 longhoods in my care. All belong to other people. I do own a Boxster, though. Maybe semi-semi pro...
