Nope. The coupler is just mumbo jumbo unless yours is busted.
Welcome to Windrush Evolutions - WEVO - Porsche Products
This is the real deal. And it comes with the coupler as well.

@$900, that's a whole lot of 915 goodness.

If you can do other stuff to get the feel without spending that kind of money....

I would not want that Wevo shifter on a street car. Some people just need to sample a properly maintained stock 915...they're great.

Have you driven it? It's pretty nice.

Though I agree with your second statement. I personally have no problem adjusting to the distance and spacing of the throws. And I drive both 901 based and 915 based cars, which have different throws. I might make a couple of mistakes during the first ten shifts or so of not having driven a car for a while. But after that I don't even think about is. Muscle memory.

I have driven one and one of my best Porsche buddies worked for Wevo for several years until recently. I think that they make great products but would not want one on my street car. I prefer the Porsche part.

Agree with Matt. I have no problem with the shifting spacing or the throws. And it's a totally rebuilt (and properly so) 915… like new! I was just commenting on it, coming off or from the G50 feel, I guess.

Which kind of brings me to a thought for another thread. Not quite ready to post but here's a hint: 911 3.2 G50 Vs. SC? Quite the delta!

Thanks for the transmission input guys!

Nick

I don't care if your wife works for Hayden. What is important is that YOU have driven a car with the part installed.

Again, the second part of your post is important. Quit your posturing. You sold cars for a "big name" dealer. BFD. I make parts. But that's not what I predicate my experience on. Tell us what YOU think, based on YOUR experience. That chip in your shoulder is kind of big, and sorry to say it but you are starting to sound like a gaping arsehole. And just this morning, you admitted, that like PML, you don't currently own a Porsche...

I don't discount your personal experience. You've driven a lot of these cars. But the name dropping gets kind of old.

I didn't think that my post was aggressive, you challenged me on whether I know what I speak of wrt some part. I do.

As for the second part of your post, go fk yourself. You don't like me? Who cares? I know you seem to think that you're some forum big shot but you're nobody to me. And you know very little about me, only what I've shared here. Name dropping? Whose name did I drop? I didn't tell you who my friend is. I don't own a Porsche but I'm talking about them...you got me there. I've had plenty and drive what I want when I want. I may buy another soon, that's why I'm on this sub-forum I guess. I've owned them, tracked them, wrenched on them, you name it. I have nothing to prove to you, grease monkey.

You guys are newbies with attitude as far as I'm concerned. Do a search of my posts on the tech board 10-14 years ago and see what I've contributed and who I've helped and what I know.

Or don't. But don't get mouthy or I'll slap you down in front of your cheerleaders. Have a good day!

Actually, I just asked if your opinion was based in personal experience. You felt the need to validate it with your friend's credentials.

I'm not some big shot. I'm some guy who was worshipping these cars before I had a license. The fact that you were selling these cars while I was in diapers doesn't make your opinion more valid than mine.

I don't dislike you. Actually I think it is the other way around. Maybe you are a grumpy old bastard who is having a hard time accepting that the next generation is reaching their earning curve and as we do, old retired car salesmen are getting priced out of the market.

I've attempted to respect my elders. But I don't respect people who time and time again talk down to others because they are less experienced. I wouldn't be where I am today without the Paul Guards, Tom Conways, Bill Jacksons, Grady Clays, Alex Jobs, Kevin Bucklers, Carl Thompsons, and many many more that came before me, and helped me on my way. When names like Woods, Freisinger, Follmer, Gamroth, Reiser, and Calias appear on my caller ID I consider myself honored, not special. That's what you don't get about me. I don't think that I am important or special. I think that I am really lucky to have been included in a fraternity that is tied to racing as it relates to this marque we love.

I'm sorry if you find me hostile. I recently made reference to Chinese handcuffs. I find you hostile toward me. I respond in kind. Maybe we would be served by speaking privately?

Ps.
I will be at the POC Tribute to LeMans. I was the title sponsor last year. You wanna smack me? Do it like a man, in person. Tell me your name and where we can have a trackside conversation. If you really want to take a swing at me, I'll offer up a cheek. But don't be surprised by the response, in kind. Chinese handcuffs and all that. I'm not a violent man. But when someone threatens me I don't take it lightly. And if he raises a fist, he better be ready to follow through.

Are you retarded? Read what you wrote. Right here. You name drop from here to fking Chinatown, call me old, a retired car salesman, etc.. Then challenge me to a fight? Fk you. I accept.

You claim I have a chip on my shoulder and yet you challenge ME every time I try to help you out with some info. On the 915 shifter, I corrected your bad info and you demanded part numbers, etc.. Why do I help?

I'm in my 50s, I'm not retired from anything, happened to have worked at a Porsche dealer for one year and made the mistake of mentioning it here, I guess, in correcting some bad info you were dropping. I'm out of shape and haven't been in a fight in almost ten years but I'll come out of retirement just for you. Hope you have some skills.

I'm a major enthusiast and know the cars, nothing else. There use to be a group of us from this forum who all knew each other, helped each other with our cars, went to the track together, etc.. Almost all of the makers of high quality aftermarket Porsche parts were part of this group and I know them all. I've never dropped their names. You manage to drop the name of the owner of Wevo to let us know that you know the guy.

You have serious issues and I can only help you out with your big mouth problem. I accept your challenge and here it is in print. This will be fun!

Here's the challenge for the record, in case you try to delete it. When I said slap you down in front of your cheerleaders, I was clearly referring to slapping you online in front of your GF Christian. But you want to meet up in person? I accept.

You name drop in this post. I haven't name dropped.

Am I all mixed-up or is this guy nuts?

He's not nuts.

Maybe you should step back from this forum for a while? You seem a little wound up.

If you're not wound up, your posts come across a bit wound up.

Maybe so, but I don't take schit from people with big mouths online or at the track. I don't care if he's some gorilla, I'd rather take a punch than back down from this idiot. He's on every thread on the forum, offering up info that's frequently inaccurate, challenging anyone who corrects him, etc. Then accused me of doing what he's clearly doing...that is textbook transference and several other well-known personality disorders.

Some of you guys seem to accept him and consider him an expert and a bigshot around here, I do not. Now we'll fight, I guess. Fine with me.

Speeder,
Yeah, I sometimes use hyperbole for effect. That post was totally over the top on purpose. It was 100% intended to fire you up. But lets be clear, I NEVER threatened you. I said if you want to be an Internet tough guy, how about we meet up face to face. You skirt the whole violence thing by saying it was a figurative written snap. But the intent was still violent. I'm not going to take a swing at anyone unless they attempt to strike me first. I'm not even interested in fighting you with words. I'll do. My best to let you coexist undisturbed around here.

But when you say something so patently ridiculous as to say Wevo's gate shift kit only belongs on a racecar I will question that. They say right there on their site that it makes the gearbox feel a lot more like the more loved G50. And it does. It's not a racecar only thing. It makes it shift better and many street car owners use it and love it. And that's why I asked if you had actually driven it. There was a disconnect there. It's one thing to say you like the old fashioned feel of a 915. It's another to claim that an improvement to its design that makes daily driving nicer is a race only part.

I don't agree with Matt all the time, and I don't consider him any kind of "big shot".

But he is, for the most part, polite and willing to share his knowledge. Which is kind of why most of us are here. I offered you my opinion because I think your interaction with him has not painted you in a good light. We don't know one another, so my opinion is meaningless on this issue, but there you have it. Worth every penny you paid!

Missed this because it was posted as I was posting. Remember the '86 shifter thing? I do. I was wrong, went out and independently confirmed what you told us and thanked you for the education.

And I never threatened anyone. You are the gorilla playing internet tough guy with his slap downs.
