I think you have confused me with a Walker apologist. While I have met him and think he is a genuine chap the point of my post is that he is a marketing genius. A lot of people miss that. His previous rock star based clothing company put him on the springboard he stands on today. People judge the appearance with little knowledge of the actual man. Furthermore I think there is a certain jealously regarding how public he is. I know ten guys who own 6-8 930s or early S cars. Magnus makes people bristle because he does a film, out of his own pocket, announcing his agenda was to own one of each year of every longnose ever made, including S variants during the S years. I have a client who owns an RS version of every car every made from '72 to '98, plus a 996 GT3 R. But you will never see him post or market himself. Different agendas but Porsche people generally have money. I think a lot of people dislike Magnus just because he is wealthy. And uses the Marque to increase his wealth. |

Matt, no doubt you are correct regarding the reasons you note for some of the anti-Magnus jibber jabber, but another motivator for it, and this I would not call "anti-Magnus, though some see it that way, is simply the humor his methods engender. He absolutely, and shamelessly, loves the camera, and while there is nothing really wrong with that, and he is free to preen and pose as he see's fit, there is a certain point-n-laugh factor there for some people (myself included). Maybe that is an uncalled for reaction to all of the posing and self promotion, but if I were in his shoes, and did the same things he does with the camera, I would expect to be teased incessantly about it.
