1971 911T low miles value?

Hi guys, I'm just curious what a 1971 T is roughly worth, numbers matching, its been repainted red at some point, not sure of original colour. It's in fair condition, i'd say a good from 10ft car. Its been changed to impact bumpers and short hood/fenders with a whale tail. Rear fenders untouched. Was a southern USA car half of its life. Floor looks pretty clean, interior is pretty good except a cracked dash. Just looking for a price range. Owner claims 35,000 miles, but i'd assume 135,000.

Thanks!

Wow, no one has any rough guesses? I was thinking its worth $10 to 15K but i'm really not sure. Does that seem realistic?

No one takes a 35k orig miles car and turns it into an 80's impact bumper 911. The car is more like 235k miles. My guess is that if it runs well, it's worth$15-18k. If it doesn't run well, $13-15k. Give or take another $1k depending on if it's a coupe or targa, and what condition the targa top is in.

Thanks for the feedback blau911, Its a non sunroof coupe. Apparently it fired right up after sitting in storage for a number of years. I saw no oil spots on the ground where it sits. I need to get a better look at it and take cash with me.

Actually, it was real common to take a low mile car and make it look like the newer model back in the 70's, the thinking was "why waste all that work on a high mile car when the low mile cars were common and cheap".

My '68 T had 42k mi on it. In 1973 it was in an accident that required replacing the front bumper, one fender and the hood. Not 100% sure on the mileage but think it was around 25k.

So what did they do? Repainted the whole car Aubergine, put an S fiberglass front bumper on it, ducktail, and 1973 cookie cutters on it. They took a 5 year old car and modernized it. Really not uncommon in its day.

I want to see pictures of the car in question. Glass or steel update parts? Bulkhead moved or original latch location intact? Etc.

Ficke & Matt, I stand corrected. I wonder what people 30 years ago would think about the fact that prices for these cars have skyrocketed, and that people are actually taking nice impact bumper 80's cars now and cutting them up to make them look like early 70's cars! We live in a strange world...

Blan911, it truly is sad what people did to cars when they were just used cars and had not become collectable.
Here is another example, a shop that cuts the split or oval window out of your VW bug and welds in a newer one and adds new big tail lights.

The car sold today, oh well, someone else must have got a good deal. I didn't jump at it because I'm already seriously looking into a much better car.
