Putting the run up in perspective
I must have too much time on my hands...
Pricing info on Porsches from Hagerty's website. (today) 1985 3.2 targa - I chose this since it is what I have. ----------------- # 2 cond ----------------------#1 cond ---------------------------------- Dow Jones ind. Dec.2006 - ------ $26,400 ----------------------$36,300 -------------------------------------- 12,200 April 2014 - ------$37,700---------------------- $56,000 -------------------------------------- 17,100 % change------43% -7.5 years --------------- 55% - 7.5 years ----------------------------- 40% - 7.5 yrs But the Dow from Mar.6, 2009 to today is up 160% from 6626 to 17,100 The other thing - If you look at the Dows chart over the last 7.5 years it looks like the peaks and valleys of the Rockies where as the 3.2 prices from Hagerty's look like an elevation chart from eastern Nebraska to the foothills of the Rockies. Nice and gradual. Doesn't look like any bubble I have ever seen.

Interesting info.
Thanks for posting. The auctions in Monterey will be incredible. I know folks who are going JUST to buy a 911....prices are going to the next level to be sure. |
