86 coupe value

Just wondering what a reasonable price is in today's market if I chose to sell my 86 with 91k. Stock with the exception of fabspeed exhaust, chip and turbo tie rods. Perfect interior and near flawless original paint.

Hope the pictures attached

Nice car. Has everything going for it, IMO. Original paint/low mi/good color combo/coupe/86/3.2.....should be well into the $30k's assuming thorough service records and documentation.

Looks like a really nice car and nice combo. I'd say somewhere in the $30-$35K range, assuming good records and documentation... I'd probably ask about $38K and see what happens.

I bought it with the red fan, I like the way it looks, the engine stands out. I considered selling it to build a backdate ST with a 3.6. The 86 is too nice to hack up, and don't know if I can convince the wife of putting a third P car in the garage.

The red fan is a red flag for many knowledgeable buyers because a very prolific engine rebuilder painted all 911 fans red. They advertised heavily in Porsche magazines and managed to ruin a shocking number of Porsche engines across the USA. If they did it, it might run ok but serious short cuts and hack procedures were done.

Amen for not wanting to hack up a nice 80s Carrera. GLWS. 3.2 Coupes are hot right now.

I know where you are going with that one, I have documentation all the way back to 50K on the car. I doubt it was a MM rebuild.

That car should be priced in the low 30s. It's a great color combination with the "right" modifications people want and it's still sub 100,000 miles.

I'd put it up at $33,000 and go from there.

Probably a decent/fair price for both parties anywhere close to 30k if it gets a clean PPI.

I think this is right on. The color combination is super rare and super appealing. With excellent documentation, this is a premium car.

I agree, very nice color combo. How much would you deduct if it was guards red over tan/saddle? Virgin without a red fan.

Agree on all counts. A good ask on this car is very high thirties. And don't take less than $35k, assuming that all is well with the mechanical parts.

It might be good to take the fan off and get rid of the red paint. It could scare some potential buyers away, and a clean fan look nice in the engine bay.

Color is such a personal thing that I wouldn't deduct anything for guards red... In my particular case, I actually was looking for a red car - my stand point is that it embraces all that the eighties was and looks quite appropriate on the car. I am a child of the eighties after all.

A couple of weeks ago I found exactly what I was looking for: red/black in pristine very original condition... Proves there's an a$$ for every seat.

That said, in my case, I wasn't hung up too much on color - condition was my top priority and finding a #1 or #2 condition Carrera 3.2 proved to be a lot harder than I anticipated, so the color wasn't going to stop me if I truly found a top condition car. I just got lucky that I found both the condition and color combo.

So, to me condition is king... YMMV though.

Interestingly, I am currently in the market for another type of Porsche in the same price range. The market is showing approximately -12% for Guards Red.
