'83SC Valuation Am I on Target?
Similar situation to what Westy recently posted...
Shortly, I am going to be helping a friend sell his Pewter (I think, need to check code to ensure it's not Platinum) '83 SC sunroof coupe. I am going to be helping sell the car, because as similar to Westy, my buddy was completely out of touch with the market on these cars as he's lost interest in the last few years. He's owned it for 15 years and is simply ready to be done with it. It's got 114k on the clock, but he has only put about 12k on in length of ownership. Has full documentation, has been fastidiously maintained by Auto Assoc in CT , car has a fantastic quality original color respray. Driver seat is looking a little tired but the dash is mint as are seals and trim. It presents as completely rust free. Tea Tray was added when car was repainted. I was thinking a solid number would be $34? Sell it fast $30-32? Thoughts?

Sounds right to me. I am in a similar situation and am thinking roughly same numbers.
Good luck. |

I'd be lying if I gave specifics right now. But what I do know is it's not a leaker, does not smoke, and he took it out for a ride without incident yesterday.
The seller and I are scheduled to go through the car top to bottom one night this coming week. I'll gather all the info, take pictures and have an ad posted within a week or so from today. I did set the expectation and explained what a PPI was, as we might run into a buyer requesting one be completed. (Another reason I'm helping, he doesn't own a computer and riding around with a For Sale sign in NW CT wasn't getting the job done)

Many places -especially northern Virginia - 911s are starting sales offers even without a sign.
I think if I put a sign on my car it would be like the pied piper wherever I drive.

Can you update once the car is for sale/sells? I'll be helping a family friend sell his (almost identical) '83 also but his is a light blue. Only difference is his has ~130k. Really is concours condition.
I was thinking $30k so sounds like I was on the right track.

Just listed the car.
Decided $28,500 is a good price considering a few things with the car. Overall, very original, no nonsense, great running and driving car. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/861432-1983-911sc-quartz-gray-metallic-coupe-original.html
