Car value CRAP group #1
It has been quite a while since I have done much with the Porsche. Some may remember the car some may not so I will provide a link to the thread. Probably one of the most documented cars on the site.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/422181-dfink-takes-over-kurt-b.html I am moving and will have much less space. I have heard that prices on the air cooled have spiked recently and even though I love this car it may be time to look at letting it go. The car has an extensive add list arp rod bolts $245 steel head studs $168 gasket kit $280 silicone valve covers $39.00 Valve Job $590 Valves $180 valve seals in kit guides plus install $120 rings $270 JE Pistons $1214 Rods reconditioned $270 wrist pins $126 retaining clips $30 dual plugged $490 bored and plated $1400 race springs $350 cams ground $250 rockers resconditioned $288 New chains $128 chain ramps $30 Nose bearing $217 rod bearing set $163 crank bearings $225 intermediate shaft bearings $40 powder coating $200 headers $925 exhaust $300 clutch and pressure plate $800 transmission 2nd gear with new teeth $695 guard clutch plates in diff seal kit $50 1st / 2nd gear slider $232 1st gear dog teeth $140 1st gear syncro $90 2nd gear syncro $90 shifter bushings $22 short shift kit $187 seine shifter centering springs and gates $150 New front tank support $500 Koni yellow sport adjustables $750 New rear wheel bearings $80 New front wheel bearings $40 Mono ball rear control arm inner bushing $195 Elephant racing ASP rear suspension with $1200 polybronze bushings and $335 quick change torsion plates $370 Front elephant racing polybronze bushings $260 New fuel pump $234 braided fuels lines and fittings $300 PLX wide band O2 $149 Fuel pressure regulator $122 electromotive tec3r engine management $6745 clewett plug wires $525 clewett cam sensor for sequential injection $190 Clewett crank trigger $389 race steering wheel $200 quick change adapter $150 fiberglass hood fiberglass doors cage $600 race seat $295 tonnue cover bumpers $875 flairs $300 wheels $1200 tires $1500 body work materials removable hard top $2500 top latches $900 door seals $80 window frame seal for top $150 lexan rear window $200 lexan front window $350 seals for top of windows $300 rear side window seals $250 and that doesn’t include several custom parts that were hand made and can't be bought at any price. I plan to sell the car with all the parts that I have for it. That will include 7&8X15 Fuchs, 7&8X16 Fuchs, 9&11X16 BBS 3 piece basket weaves (the real deal) The 9" and 11" front rear flares along with the custom front rear bumpers, The had laid fiberglass race doors, the hand laid fiberglass hood along with the original steel hood. The Set of Sport seats that I hand recovered along with the original intake and ignition systems. Many other parts too numerous to list. Car is currently in a street mode with working head and tail lights, brake lights and turn signals, Starts and runs great. I would probably go to ebay with the car but need to have some idea of a reserve price. I know the 92C4 I sold last year for 17K I now wish I had back. Anyhow could use some help on this one if anyone has some input. If it is still a 20K car it will just stay put.

That's a tough call. $20k is light, but this car is far away from original, and original cars are what get the bucks. Add some current photos to that thread and you might get some interest. I would think the refreshed and upgraded engine/trans would get you most of the way to $20k. But the problem is going to be the fact that this car isn't a gentle street cruiser any more. So that kills a big chunk of the market. Set your eBay reserve at $25k and see what happens.

Put it on ebay and see what happens- you have nothing to lose.
