A couple years ago I would have laughed over this one.

Maybe there's a '68 lurking around under all that abusive bodywork.

Who knows? Maybe you could get him down, strip all that stuff off the car, make a couple grand and then start on a '68 resto journey. Not a journey I would want to take though.

2 years ago I passed on a '68 S in Oregon that had been clipped on the nose, had a '74 engine, BAT turbo and EVERYTHING from an '86 930 installed on the car as far as bodywork and interior. Car still had '68S underpinnings including calipers, etc. It was $23k. I'm sorry today...

Funny how it has come full circle, people used to spent a lot of money to make their cars look like new ones and now people are spending a lot of money to make their new cars look like old ones.
The grass is always greener to some.

SWB wide body reminds me of altered-wheelbase drag cars. I can't imagine the razors-edge handling at the limit..

Can you tell from the pictures (presumably the wheel base?) that this is actually a 68?

I looked at the ad yesterday and assumed he had transposed the date, and it was an 86 that has been tarted up with fiberglass flares to give it a turbo look.

It has opening wing windows, inside door handles of a 1968.
