Need COA help. Anyone?

I need to verify if numbers are matching on a car.. But don't have a month to wait for the COA from Porsche. I used to know someone in Germany that was able to obtain the info right away.. Unfortunately, that contact is gone. Does anyone know someone who could get me those numbers quick? I would pay for the services of course. Thanks.

I think you might get a better response if you told us what year, model etc.

These guys in France are good and quick and cheap - only works for cars after 1981 though:

Porsche Option decoder VIN

Click on the british flag to get semi-english
Go to "decoder porsche"-->"decode vIN" -->"vin+option(paypal)"

Other than the actual build options, I don't think it will give you the actual engine serial number, just the engine and transmission codes (mine were just M65.07 and G50.20). If you contact them directly they might have more info.

Just call PCNA at the 800 number and ask them for the numbers and options for a car you are looking to buy. You get the same info as comes on a CoA over the phone for free. That should take care of the short term need, you can order the printed version later.

I was under the impression (from posts in the tech forum) that they will confirm whether or not the engine and transmission numbers are original, but if you don't supply the numbers, they won't dislcose them. Did I misunderstand?

Give me $5. I will tell you what engine type number and transmission type number belongs in your car. I'll even tell you the start of the serial numbers. That stuff is easy. It's the end of the serial number being matched to the specific chassis that isn't.

Just called PCNA and yes, they will only verify the numbers. Either yes or no. And that's all I wanted. So thank you Arne2 for your help. Much appreciated.

Odd. Last time I called (in February this year), I gave her the VIN and told her I was considering a purchase, and she read off to me the entire bit. Engine and transmission numbers, color and interior codes, and all options.

But still glad that you got the info you needed to move on.

I can get it. Have to pay someone off, so a bit more than a CoA. Not worth it unless the car is pre-70 in which case a Kardex is available.

Yes. I just used them to get the option codes that were associated with a VIN that I supplied. For that they were accurate and fast.
