There was another one like that on Rennlist (or maybe it's the same) for 52k or so. Agreed that it looks like great value. Seems like mileage is punished ruthlessly in the 997tt market.

I wondered how long it would take for you to swoop in and **** on my thread...lol..

That was kinda funny though.

My point is....I loved the viceral interaction (4spd/5spd) with my older 911/930 cars...but if you haven't driven a 996 or 997 turbo with "tiptronic" you can't really judge these cars....they are phenomenal.

Back to you Trannies930...(BTW, does SliburAnus know you are trolling without him?)

Matt,

As someone who just bought an 07 Turbo, yes that's an incredible deal... I ran across a thread where a guy took his engine down due to an oil leak at near 400k miles and all wear surfaces were within tolerance.

Personally I would have no problem with a car that had 100k. Honestly the idea of a less expensive car that I would worry less about is more appealing than a much more expensive low mileage car.

David- have you DE'd the car yet? Let's see a pic of your ride.

What issues do these cars typically have?

Matt,

Not yet... Would like to though. The things we ran across is the coolant lines can come loose, guys either pin or weld them. The clutch accumulator can have issues as well.

With that said, most say the engine is literally bullet proof if taken care of. Same engine variant in the Cup and GT3 cars. Different architecture than the regular 996 and 997 NA cars.

Lets see if this works:

[shakes head]

I have driven Tiptronic cars, and they might indeed be fabulous in every way. I do not like cars where I am not the one selecting gears at the time and place of my selection.

Sorry.

That's what them buttons is for, Eric. To change gears (faster than you can), at the time and place of your selection. Please pick another reason for disliking tip.

I mean always, and with a pedal.

Not just sometimes, with nothing for my left foot to do. PDK, Tiptronic, DSG, I don't care what box it is. I don't like driving them. And I have, and I still don't like them, no matter how many buttons you put on them.

I have yet to drive a tip, I really want to but just never seem to have time. That said, it looks like the 997 turbo prices will be within 996 range soon.... thank god. that slate grey one is gorgeous.
