I never knew gold and brown were meant to be together. Wonderful earth tone combo.

It's a color combo that perfectly evokes the era that early 930 collectors are trying to recapture.

Didn't look quite as nice last Spring before the detailing........
1976 Porsche 930 for sale: Anamera Also, how many of these cars had both an engine replacement and a full rebuild? EDIT: Just Googled the phone number - that prior seller was....wait for it..... BHCC! Or maybe they're still the seller?

I know this car. I did hear that it was bought through BHCC, but they only had it up for sale for a day before it got snatched up. I don't think they knew the rarity of the options on that car. The seller on BaT is in no way affiliated with BHCC other then buying the car from them.
The story I heard is that BHCC have people who go around and look for cars in garages and driveways. Someone saw this car here in the SF bay area (I want to say hillsborough?) in a garage and went and knocked on the door. He was the original owner and didn't drive it much anymore. They offered him cash and he sold it and it went to L.A. Then a R-Gruppe member saw it at BHCC and paid them full price. And back to the Bay it came. I saw the car at Rennsport and it is stunning. That's all. Over and out. |

It will be interesting to see if the current seller is successful in pulling off a flip on one of the master flippers.

Can you really call it a flip if he's had it for more than 6 months and has obviously done a good amount of work to really make it a nicer car?

Beverly Hills Car Club, a renowned flipper of usually quite rough air-cooleds.

hard to say, if he bought it for making a profit, it should be a flip,
but it really doesn't matter in my opinion, he bought it, took the risk, if he makes money, good for him. and I truly hope he does well,

A curious question is what do several of you think the price would end at if the numbers matched and the engine wasn't a blank stamp.

Value...
coincidence or ? ...a Vehicle Condition 4 at Hegarty's is $100K...yes, insurance values, but a reflection of the desirability of the model...Also this car is will beyond condition 4 How high can it go...
BTW I have a well 'patina-ed' 76 TC, so I am interested in this. |

The condition of this one with a matching engine? My WAG is 250+, potentially a lot higher if the work was done to a high standard and all the nits were picked. The mileage is what hurts the value - like it or don't these are collector vehicles nowadays and collectors don't like mileage (or little "issues" like dented heat exchangers, wrong lenses, etc) Don't you have a couple of these? What's the market like - any recent comps? |

I start to question myself as to their price hence why I asked. I think your in the right park at 250k. I also think these cars are no longer meant to be sold on eBay nor BAT but at real auctions. They graduated or are graduating. The same goes for real nice 911s or RS cars. I don't see them selling via Internet sites. The level of buyer isn't clicking refresh a few times a day. They are working, making the big bank money that these cars are starting to fetch and going to auctions and buying them.

There are two different markets for turbo's
1. Low mileage excellent condition 100 % original cars- these are the cars "collectors" buy and pay big money for. 2. Everything else- much tougher to sell even at 1/3 to 1/2 the price- these are the cars "enthusiasts" buy- it's a totally different market. This is an over simplification but nothing in hagerty or any other pricing model reflects this reality. Phil |
