It's hard to value 2.7 engines without knowing a little about it. Has it had case savers installed, they tend to pull studs. Removing valve covers to check studs and see what cams look like helps. Leak down and compression numbers help. Any signs of modifications? Is there an intake system, shroud alternator fan and housing or just long block? Rebuilding a 2.7 mag engine can cost more than a later aluminum case.

It looks like someone cleaned it up with a wire wheel and then painted the things that come off easy in black.
As it sits, with no history and no leakdown, it's a core that's worth maybe $750 to $1K as all the expensive parts are missing (ie. fan). It's really not worth much even in this market if you cannot establish some sort of history or work done (or if it was even running at the time of being pulled). |
