6 hours...

...is all it took. I thought it was a great price when I saw the ad yesterday. Guess a lot of people did too!

more time than it takes to sell a 2 million dollar house in Vancouver. : )

contracts containing any form of "subject to" go straight into the garbage.

Ad has been updated - So who was #1 with the deposit that hemmed and hawed over flaws? Dummy, lowballing dummy, or phantom? Can't think of any small imperfections that would get an honestly interested party to pass at that price..

Doesn't sound to me that the buyer got scared off. Sounds like the seller voluntarily cancelled the deal due to various "forgotten" items that need fixing.

Perhaps being inundated with offers causes one to rethink the asking price? Regardless, I don't think we will know what those minor fixes were when it's relisted in the future at a less-amazing (higher) price. Just my 2 cents......

That would be my guess. When people offer to buy sight-unseen, you might have left some money on the table.

So the issues that made the first buyer back out caused the price to increase by about 10K Shouldn't the issues cause the price to drop?

Haha! Exactly. If I read that right, he's going to fix the issues, so he'd like bidders to contact him on his future sale - when the car will be perfect, and he's expecting over $45 (which he's thinking will be the new asking price) but the "fair price" would be in the $50k price range. Makes sense.

Dave - just own up - say you didn't research pricing - there is no "first buyer" who backed out, and put your car up on BAT or eBay.

So much for someone getting a good deal without battling for it. If the supposed buyer really did back out of the deal or bock and could have had it for 35k in the beginning then he blew it. it looks like a really good car to me and now it will go for 45 to 50 easily. When are people gonna realize that you cant screw around when these deals come up

I think what happened was a few "buyers" who didnt get the first in line mentioned to the seller that he "mis priced the car". They did this out of pure jealousy and stupidity...thereby blowing the deal for the first buyer (who likely is annoyed that they didnt get the deal).

That said, it is 155K mile C2, while it is very nice (blk) there is a great car that has a Rennspeed rebuilt engine for $35 albeit - I think Amazon Green. It is located in Canada but originally a Utah car. I couldnt find the link it was on Pelican and is on Rennlist as well.

BTW - I think this might be the BUYER who got screwed.

Found the link - it sold for only $33K ---- just a few days ago.
That was a great car and a C4 (with Porsche most advanced 4 wd drive system - derived from the legendary 959)
$33K --- wow

Look to Canada for deals. Sure it's more paper work but the Canadian dollar is so low that Canadian sellers can accept a lower amount in US dollars.
