Terribly hung bumpers, and who puts an RS rep bumper on a SWB car.
Door cards sans pockets are also hideous.
Turn the speedo back where it belongs.
I think they mean Ossi Blue.
And re-glue the kneepad.

And I'm not some concours weenie. It's just strong money for a car with so many little things wrong.

ps. Based on a few other cars I've seen from these guys I think they retouch their photos.

I dunno. Its not a lot of money for a SWB. Yes the changes are less desirable (the reproduction RS bumper) and the knee pad is weak (needs the stuffing corrected behind the vinyl - even more than re-glue) but really this is on par for $29k.

Those look to be repo 4.5 Fuchs, but if they are real then that helps the value right?

MM is bitter because he isn't part of the 912 club any longer.

I catch him trolling the 912 section late at night....

Actually I meant to mention the wheels too. Those aren't real Fuchs and the finish on them is terrible. And the black engine grill. Hard to tell if it's just painted or if it's from a later car and not correct.

No it's not stupid money. But if you include the paint and body (including original color) to make it right the car still needs $40-50k worth of work. You can find a solid 912 for $10-15k less that isn't so dolled up.

Furthermore, is it a Euro or did someone take off the side markers when they painted it? How well was that done? And there are zero undercarriage shots and no real telling shots of door sills, or the base of either front or rear windows. A close inspection of this car may show a lot of hidden rust and even previous accident damage. My statement of strong money for what it is does assume there's more hidden from plain view that a proper PPI or in person visit to the dealership would reveal.

$40-50K is a lot of cash! If the motor and trans are good and original and the body has no rust, why would it need that much cash to make it right? How much does the the correct bumpers and new door cards cost?

I'm not convinced the body has no rust. Look at the rust on the shifter stalk. If it looks like that on an "Arizona" car do you really think there's not more lurking elsewhere? I'm talking a bare metal respray in the original color. And a bunch of little things. You don't have to do it now. You can drive it for a decade before you do most of it. You can do it while driving and enjoying it. I'm also very skeptical that there's not a 1 in front of the mileage number unless they have a pile of date records. You might have engine and gearbox work on the horizon that you aren't counting on if you believe that mileage.

I love yellow cars. I'm just no smitten by this one. It's too bright and shiny. If it looks to good to be true? Yeah, I'm a skeptic.
