Price help needed: Unstamped 3R longblock

Hello all

I have an unstamped 3R 2.2 (T) longblock I am pulling and selling. This was a running engine as of the last time the car was driven (May 2011), but leaked oil and I consider it a core. No carbs, intake manifolds, fan, or flywheel will be included.

Several Pelican members have expressed interest but it is a bit of a standoff with nobody comfortable naming a price, myself included. I know most of the value is in the unstamped case and the heads. The heat exchangers aren't in bad shape, though (IIRC, will inspect closer). No corrosion around the sump.

Finding recent price comps has been a challenge. I did see a bare case with a spun bearing was sold for $2k not that long ago.
So, any idea what a fair price would be?

Your input is appreciated.

Thx

Dan

I have one too and asked this question myself and got no responses, perhaps because this may be hard to pin down as not too many previous sales to go off of as you noted. My local p car shop seemed to think it may be worth $2000-3000 to the right buyer.

Hopefully, your thread gets more responses and we get to see some other thoughts.

When in doubt, put it on ebay with a super high reserve, see what the market says and then decide if that is enough to give up the part. If it's not, put it back on the shelf.

The market is never wrong, even if you don't agree with it.

Adam, I'm sure you've run across, bought and sold, every p-car and part out there. Any thoughts on specific value outside of the ebay test?

I'd have to ask Brother Matt, he handles the 911 stuff, I generally stick to the 356 stuff.
