Car is mine and the ad is real, anyone is welcome to see it. It had some running troubles hence the below market price. I blew out the idle jets, replaced fuel filters and fixed throttle linkage and the car now runs great. No smoke, hesitations or any issues motor is very strong, put 350 miles on it over the last week.

I've still priced it below market as I got a good deal on it and it didn't take much to fix.

Thanks for posting this by the way. I had four guys who wanted to come see it tmrw and now they've all cancelled likely due to your post.

I wonder why? If I wanted to look at a car, and saw it was discussed here, that wouldn't deter me one bit from going to look at it. Did they say why they canceled?

What is wrong with a member with the knowledge and know how willing to risk his own hard earned money on a model (911) that he's passionate about, then repair or improve and pass along to another? Should he do it for free? Should I sell all my cars for what I paid for them or less?

What "issues" would there be? This is just transparency, it's not like people are making up lies. Like RawKnee said, if someone likes the car and the price, they're not going to back out of looking at it from this.

Racerboyrt, My reason for posting this thread about the car was not to call you out or pass judgement on you for reselling the car. It was to determine if the car was for real. Scammers are lifting pics from Ebay and Craigslist all over the place right now. One of the real benefits of this website is not just so longterm users can buy and sell cars from each other, but also help each other by sharing info about cars. I am not passing judgement, and had no intention of hindering the sale of your car. GLWTS.
As for Mike80911's post, I don't see what issues I am raising with prospective buyers. The fact that this thread has confirmed that Racerboyt is the real seller should help with the sale.
Anyone who would lose interest in buying a car because sthe person before them bought it cheaper is a flake to begin with. These cars were only $9,000 new back in the day, and prices even for basket case rust buckets are going for 3-4 times that, and nice restored example for 10 times more than new.
Perhaps some here on this board want to kid themselves that private sellers and dealers aren't making a lot of money buying and selling these cars right now. That's their problem...

Placing the word "scam" in the original post for one. In today's climate on the internet some people will see that word and not trust the ad at all. Maybe the OP can at least remove that part of the post. I would not want another member asking if it was a scam if I had a car for sale would you? I know we often try to protect each other against scammers and that is the right thing to do as a community but I have seen the seller post here time and time again so maybe if it were me wondering I would have PMd him first to determine the validity of the ad.

Okay Mike. This thread has helped determine that the car is not a scam, and I have removed the word scam.

Are you seriously trying to censor someone's simple question ?

"Is this a scam or a flip?"

We're all adults here and perfectly capable of drawing our own conclusions after reading the rest of the thread.

Well, that is a common theme for some of the members that post (albeit VERY rarely) in this forum.

Per racerboyrt, the car is currently priced below market. I agree.

He openly bought the car at a good price - presumably because he could see there were relatively minor details holding it back - and applied his knowledge to bring the car up to a higher value.

They used to talk about the "knowledge-based economy" back in the 90s. Well this is an example of applying knowledge to create value.

GLWS, racerboyrt

Value added reseller. Nothing wrong with that IMO.

Not my intention to censor anyone I am simply stating my opinion and would not want someone associating my for sale ad with the word scam. Sorry if this rubs you the wrong way. Often times people do not read every word in a thread.

I understand what your original intentions were and I know you meant no ill will towards the seller. Glad to see you corrected the error

So we should delete the thread because people skim versus read all the content? You are afraid of a thread title versus actual content. Sir, I do not think the internet is for you.
