Umm.. You have a 78 930 with 17,000 miles and you only want $80,000....

#1 either your very uninformed as this is a $100,000 + car all day long.

#2 your trying to currently buy a 78 930 with 17,000 miles

That's not what he said, either one... Drink a cup of coffee and re-read it.

I remember in the early 90's I could buy a turd sandwich for 50 cents. Talking 25 years ago when these cars were slightly used. Nice cars are selling for original sticker plus some. There are some going for a quite a bit more. Just the facts.

Anyway you cut it, a turbo is an iconic car. Picture above does not lie. Fan or not, they were the super car of the day. Really do not care about the price of the car today. I own a a little piece of history I hope I can pass down to my kids in 20 years or so. In the meantime, will enjoy my little drives here and there.

At the risk of ***forum dating***, that is spot on; they are not offspring, unicorns, mermaids with big, perfect boobs, or the cure for cancer, butt simply old chunks of metal, rubber and glass.

Looks like a fun project to me! Wonder what sort of condition that engine is in and why was it pulled?? If I was local I'd be tempted to wander on over there to check it out.. what would be a fair offer price for that? lets assume the engine and trans are in working order.

matt930s 12-01-2016 04:09 AM

Cheap, but has a looong story.....

^^^ If the head studs have not been done it probably needs them at 109K. I think it's priced right.
Recover the seats, give the car a good detail in/out and you have a nice clean driver. The snorkel washers are still in tact.

Another classic from BHCC. Looks like that intercooler was a radiator that came out of a 1940 Ford pickup.

Amazing that someone would leave a component which is so front and center as the intercooler looking as if it was drug behind the Ford for a few hundred miles.

"Believed to be capable of 750hp" - well, a stock one is "capable" of that if built to the hilt. It takes serious modifications, not the least of which is a complete, EFI/engine management system, and a serious turbocharger, or two, to get to those power levels, and not one mention of those details in the listing?!?!

Ok looks like they sold the very interesting 1977 930.

Calling this car a 930 is a stretch.. this is better described as a car that started out as a 930.. all your getting here is a tub and a engine case.

The description says it is a twin turbo. I wonder where they are hiding the second one.

Man, that's hilarious - one center exhaust tip (presumably a zork) and one up-pipe to the intercooler . . . probably no chance that it's a TT.
