RuF GT2 - thoughts..

I love this car, and have been ever since I saw it years ago. Can't afford it, but just curious your thoughts on its current asking price and how you think it would appreciate over the years as compared to a bone stock 2002 gt2.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/942219-2002-porsche-911-gt2-ruf-550-ruf-rturbo-conversion-moton-suspension-euro-gt3-seats.html

Wish I had the cash.. I'd be flying to Dallas tomorrow to drive it home!!

I agree, that looks like a pretty good price all things considered. Looks like a sick ride.

Ruf...

Ruf is an exceptional tuner in the Porsche community with a long and cherished history (as far as "tuners" go anyway). Only Ruf could get away with modifying a GT2.

This vehicle appears to be in outstanding condition. It should be a solid bet for future collectors - 996 chassis and scrambled egg headlights notwithstanding.

Is it just me or is it iffy that a dealer would underprice that car?

Makes the alarm bells go off - such as what's wrong? No details on DME report, overrevs, track time?

The car only has 44k miles and yet got a new clutch and new mounts 3 years ago? That thing got driven hard.

I was thinking that price was a little low.. Not much info to go off of which is a little odd. One would think for such crazy car details and documentation would be provided. Curious on what they got for it.

A $100k car shouldn't have zip ties holding the Moton reservoir to the cross bar. There must be a more elegant solution than that...

The market for these hybrids is extremely weird.. many out there with the same thoughts as you. Others want to go with something newer when you get into that kinda money.

With the kinda power this thing puts down, as fast as it puts it down.. a clutch upgrade is warranted.. that is if you've got the balls & the talent to use it.. as opposed to staring at it in the garage!

In the cramped compartments available, not so much with-out altering the tub, fabbing mounts to the cross brace or something.

Yep some folks get it!!

Oh, and my comments are based on my experience with one of these cars that belongs to a friend/customer. He's trying to sell his too.. it didn't do well at Auctions America in Hilton Head where the barn find speedster brought $665K.

His car is Speed yellow, and is also completely Ruf built with a few additional tweaks by TPC.. its 7 - 800+ hp depending on tune.. and it flat peels your eye-lids back! There are not many street cars out there that carry the kind of velocity that these do!! Its impressive, and if you own one, you can't help but drive it.

I seriously considered selling a couple of toys and buying it myself.. decided not to understanding that it would be pure trouble. Street racing for cash comes to mind 1 -$5K per romp.. Pinks? Run what-ya-brung. I got you losing.

seriously they're beastly and I'm not the biggest 996 based 911 fan. Just say'n.

The yellow car is still available and in top shape.
