School me on 997.1 Turbo prices
So I'm kinda thinking about maybe selling my 964 and Cayman and replacing it with a 997.1 Turbo. Prices seem to be pretty scattered, and I'm wondering if we think they are still depreciating a bit, or if they have already bottomed out and heading north. Only looking for a coupe with a manual box, and ideally a 2009.
Thanks. |

I own two, 2007 6MT and 2009 6MT
Prices have bottomed out and remain stable. A nice 2009 6MT starts at 70K and goes from there. Anything below that number is a car that needs work. Ask away, I can tell you anything you need to know about the cars. |

A pretty but slightly rough 2007 6MT sold for $50k at Mecum in Monterey this last weekend. Despite the few issues the car had, I was shocked it sold so cheap.
It was from Colorado. Is corrosion a concern on these cars?

Corrosion is not really an issue. They're pretty well protected. If it sold for 50K it must've had a good amount of miles. A 6MT 2007 usually starts at 60K depending on options.
There was an 07 that was local to me that was aksing 48K, it had over 100K miles, bad paint, and no options to give you an idea. |

Reason it sold so low was due to a bad Carfax. The car was involved in an accident.

I just purchased a 997.1 turbo. Have been looking for the past 2 years. They seemed to have bottomed out about 2.5 years ago. Lower mileage ones are commanding a premium.
Higher mileage ones can be had for ~$65k and up. Lots of cars available with accidents on their carfaxes. I wouldn't mind finding another one with high miles for cheap to track etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/automobiles-sale/410753-997-turbo-6sp.html It's neither -that- modded, nor especially high mileage, so I'm wondering if the end of summer has the market taking a leg down or if people won't buy a car in Brooklyn. |

Clean, un-modded, lower mileage (under 40k), manual 6spd coupes with a rare color combo - PCCB - Limited Slip - Sport Seats or Buckets (super rare) will get swooped up quickly ($75k and up). All and all I feel like the unmolested, original, pampered cars have leveled out about 2 years ago and thought after optioned cars are definitely on the up and up. Also 2009 manual coupes are quite rare (great ol' housing crisis peak). So expect a premium for the 09 last of the Mezger. 10-12 manual coupes are even rarer and command a premium also. Yeah I bought my 2009 this year about 6 months ago for $68K. It was a good deal because the car had a bunch of little things that needed to be done which I knew about up front. Needed a clutch, needed front axle boots, and a couple other minor things.
GT silver on Red interior, 6MT, Factory aerokit, sport chrono, ventilated seats. If it didn't need the disclosed maintenance items, it would be asking 75-78K. The 2009 is the LAST year of the 6MT and the Mezger engine. Since I have a lift, tools, PIWIS an wholesale parts account I was able to do the repairs for a fraction of the price. |
