Where is the market on 73S Targa
!973S Targa - owned by Early S Man from 1977 until his passing in 2008
Matching #s engine and trans Driver quality signal yellow paint Zero rust New brown interior with hounds tooth inserts 71,000 original miles New Carsinc top Rebuilt calipers New suspension rubber New Shocks and struts New SSI's H1's Factory AC car - have parts but not installed To my knowledge, the engine has not been redone, but it runs fantastically and uses very little oil. Ed Mayo did most of the mechanical work, so it's done right. What's the value in today's world? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

A bit difficulty to say as the market in kind of in flux right now. Here is one that didn't hit reserve at $87k. I believe the seller was looking for around $125k.

Thanks for the reply - that one has been on market for a while. It looks nice but has a non original engine.

Didn't see that. I'm curious why that one hasn't sold.

Value
I thought the offer was $25,000 less than it was worth.A 2.4S? Nice car.Too many people on the fence right now regarding future value instead of the beauty of the beast.Shame on you and just buy a FERRARI.

I'll echo what Phil says: buyers today come with a long checklist and want every box checked.
A buyer looking for a stock appearing S Targa might need to see rocker trim. Another might believe that all S cars should have sport seats (CoA listed or not). Another might insist on a black interior with Signal Yellow. In my experience, these are not negotiating points, but binary decision triggers. The 'all-the-money' buyer wants the car exactly the way he wants it, and done, done, done. Having said that, this car is spectacular looking and I'd say $100-120K is what the right buyer would pay for it -- though probably with some details changed.

Mark,
I saw your Thread on the early S site, the best of luck however you decide to proceed. Phil |
