Yup that makes sense.. Hmm kinda sucks since it's a pretty good deal on the car. If he was to let it go for 20k it's unheard of for a one owner 87 Carrera for something like that. Think I might take the risk and if anything happens that is too much to handle I could always try to recoup for little loss.

Itza, are you sure you are ready? All old 911 cars, even a $50k-60k cream puff with recent rebuild and all documents could have a $10k+ repair on the horizon. Less likely compared to a non-rebuilt car but things still happen and even perfect cars break and have repair needs. These cars are 30+ years old.

Try to be smart about buying them but don't be surprised when things happen and big bucks are required. Here's my advice; if you budget $50k for a 'car', that gets you a $30-35k '911' with a repair/maintenance fund.

Yup, thanks for the input.

I think I'm safe with purchasing it as long as no major issues.

I haven't saw any non-running '87 Carrera's for sale but even on auction they don't sell at 20k

Jesus Christ on a cracker. If a g50 one owner Carrera was offered to me at $27k I would own it already. Still don’t know if stupid or troll.

happy unicorn hunting, itza. may you find your dream 911 in a field of 4 leaf clovers next to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

best of luck!...

A G50 Carrera in decent nick is a $40-45k all day long. The only way you ever make some money on a flip is to take a chance. The conservative people aren't the ones to put $10k in their pocket holding a car for 6 months or so. You go check out the car in person, skip the PPI and go for it. All this hand wringing and "is this a good deal?" stuff is just plain silly.

kc911s 06-05-2018 10:41 AM

If this car is for sale on the open market anywhere then it is already sold. Don't worry about scheduling a ppi it will just be a waste of the owners time.

Thanks Matt I like how you keep it 100. I'm not trolling.

No paperwok about a rebuild you have at least a $10k bill waiting for you.

Seriously?
Rebuild an engine at 125k?
If this was any other car, that would be considered a monumental pile of garbage.
Or a class action lawsuit.

+1.

As soon as he mentioned $27k and PPI in the same sentence,
I knew he will not be owning this car.

You would move fast since you actually want a car to drive.
He's looking for free money, not a car.

.

If your time frame is in weeks, you're shopping the wrong car.

I predict your next post to be:
It was sold from under me (....as I waited for weeks to buy the $27k G50. and the guy figured out he could sell it for $35k.)

Do you have the $27k in cash sitting on your desk?
Why are you not there today?

MadeofOak 06-06-2018 05:55 PM

...few weeks? Even Chebys don't take that long to sell...

7-11-17. That's when this thread was started. Almost one year ago. Just a bunch of excessive gas and bloating. No action makes me a dull boy.

kc911s 06-06-2018 06:21 PM

...yeah. He is still on the hunt. He hasn't bagged his trophy yet.

matt930s 06-06-2018 06:35 PM

Something does not seem right about this car.
