Still on the hunt

Hey guys,

Finally graduated and got a decent job so I'm back on the hunt for a 911.
I'm not looking for a minty turbo 930 but more of a project car or decent sheeper as most of you would call them.

A mostly original 911 with a steel turbo wide body is the perfect candidate in my eyes. I have found many cars in the last few years but timing wasn't right and/or sellers were being bums.

This isn't a thread to try to get some sort of lead on crazy collector cars but more on the line of suggesting some cars that most the people on here wouldn't consider purchasing due to the mods they have etc.

I expect some people to send me ***** eBay links and super ugly 911's but for those who actually wanna help a brotha out shoot me a PM or post it in here.

Just want to get back into one before winter rolls around again here in Ohio.

Realistically looking for mid 70's - late 80's 911 with some body mods that doesn't need full resto and not rotted. I've found these examples for mid 20k range or less and looking to spend that for now.

Thank you all.

Mario

Yes I agree. Even blown 930's half burnt go 30-40k on insurance auctions so those are not on my radar at the moment.

N/A 911's with wide body's (steel is my preference since my old one was fiber) but really willing to consider anything I can daily while fixing up slowly.

Thanks

congrats on your graduation.

I think with your budget you're going be looking at SCs or a 996 - 996 may not be a bad route to go pending the IMS gets replaced.

Dmitry is probably right. Why suffer through somebody's mistakes when you can be driving into the sunset in a 996 or Cayman. Might be an interesting way to go and the enjoyment factor would be quite high - and then you can rest a little.

Cool car. You could buy it and recoup some dough by selling the tail and wheels immediately. Could be what you are looking for though.

That is a weird place to park a car.

sugarwood 07-11-2017 12:59 PM

What is this fixation on getting a modded widebody car?
It's like you're intentionally targeting ugly girls for an easy 2am lay.
If you're budgeting $20k, best advice you will get is to save up longer, and get a better car.

Tarek307 07-11-2017 01:55 PM

you can get a nice sorted out 996 for that, 996 are amazing cars pretty much best bang for your buck..do ims and finito!

Yup sounds about right. Just don't like the 996 front end. Would prefer the Cayman before a 996 and almost bought one last year but it slipped away.

Cars parked on lawn may have rust.
Find out how long it's been parked.
