2016 Macan

Found a 2017 (mistake in thread title) Macan GTS with 2500 mi at dealer. 5 1/2 yr warranty $76,000. Too much? Thanks for your input.

If you want to lose a ton of $$ when it seriously devalues in a few years, go for it. Look what used Cayennes go for now.

Tend to drive it out of my cars. The newest car I own is 15 years old.

I’ve got one and love it......we’ve quickly racked up 35,000 miles on ours, still drives like new, handles like a car, tons of fun in a useful package.

Thinking that these have the same heart and soul as an aircooled 911 is analogous to thinking a PT Cruiser is an evolution of a Hemi Cuda...

These are Porschified VW Tiguans built for a market that identifies with the prestige of owning a 'PORSH'.

I'm not saying they aren't ok vehicles but they are not cut from the same cloth as a hand built air cooled 911.

Surely no one thinks a Macan is analogous to an air cooled 911!

I'm holding off for a 3-yr old lease return. There will be tons of 'em at great prices. The dealers can't absorb all they've sold.

As John Walker said, if you don't mind the depreciation, go for it.

I test drove a 2015 Macan S being sold by a private party. They are good SUVs. It was being sold for $43K. So in two years, your $76K could be $50K...

Macan and Audi Q5 share the same chassis. No relation at all to the Tiguan.

Speaking of PT Cruiser, I always thought the Macan shared a lot of styling cues with them from the B pillar back. $76000 for an ugly crossover with a 911 nose grafted on.

If you want or need a mid sized SUV this is a good one to get. I have the less expensive SQ5 which is related. I'm sure I would've been happy with the Porsche but I just couldn't justify the Porsche tax. The Audi is a great performer in its own right and I only see it every few months so it's a good compromise for me. All of these luxury vehicles depreciate too quickly in my opinion.

Saw a new one inside Costco last week. Sticker was $80K. I thought they were kidding. No one should ever complain about used air cooled 911 values if they are considering something like this...

I like the Macan, and the GTS is the sweet spot of that model line, like most of the Porsche cars for me. However, I think that price is about $8K strong for a used one. Yes, I realize it is a CPO car, but still, that is my position on a used one. I really do like them and if my wife tires of her '10 997 4S 6 speed coupe, I might try to get her into a Macan GTS.

When I drove a Turbo, it seemed to have massive amounts of body roll. The lighter weight Tiguan doesn't seem to have this problem.
YMMV

I have an air cooled 911. Was soliciting informed opinions on the Macan. I understand the bias against other models. I was once guilty of the same. However, since I posted here, I have spent considerable time researching and driving the Macan. If you need a bigger Porsche, it's the business. Otherwise, see above.

Did you have the turbo in sport plus mode? I found the Macan to be quite composed in that configuration

The Tiguan has no body roll because it is too slow to generate the required force.
