73 CIS Block

Just use the 73T block. At 140 Horse it should not need any work. The 911/83 has probably been beat like a stepchild. The mag cases fatigue and crack as well like a 935 or 962.Most of the early mag cases get slightly oval in the line bore just get a clean line hone to be true. There are no case stud issues as they were not stressed and do not need case savers.Good studs and a Rawknees size oil cooler up front to keep it cool.$3-4,000 less to use that block.Just call my buddy Peter.Oh,he just got a.new knee.Ciao Fred

One would need an engine capable of more than a puny, 140 horse to tote that big, fookin MF around!

Yeah, i spent a Saturday there recently. I know where, I'm resisting the inevitible.

Fred,
I'm gonna build it myself. Ive never built a 911 engine before, just trannies. I've done dozens of Subaru engine, but never an air cooled. If i had a buyer for the case i might use another. Ive got half a dozen engines here from 2.2 to 3.2.

Yes, there are collectors. In fact it's not uncommon to see rare pieces with increased values. Sure a nickel is worth $0.05 but a 1918 nickel of the right sort can be worth $350,000. And if you have one I would be happy to give you a nickel for it.
